Profile: Jody Noller

Personal background
Greetings and salutations. My name is Jody Noller and I am a single dad living in the woods of Northeast Connecticut. I have been a member of seti@home for over 4 years now, but only recently upgraded to an I5 so I could have the service active on my pc constantly without affecting performance. I am a firm supporter of the US Space program, and SETI. I would like to believe that before my life is over that I will see our civilization contact extraterrestrials. I am very excited about the robotic probes en route to Mars, and especially CASSINI en route to Saturn with the historic Hueygens probe to Titan! I think it is very exciting and is great that so many people have the SETI software at home and are participating in this great adventure.
So, let us all boldly go where no one has gone before!

PS If there are any single women out there I am available!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extraterrestrial life exists, the question really is...are there other intelligent civilizations out there besides ours (Then again....with all the wars and terrorism going on I wonder if intelligent life exists here on Earth?) When will we discover extraterrestrial life? I believe we will discover some type of life on Mars or possibly on Europa or Titan..but most likely on Mars. The benefits of discovering extraterrestrial life are infinite!
Firstly, it would be great if we found that we are not alone in the universe!
Second, it could possibly open dialogue between civilizations and we might learn so much. Should we tramsmit a beacon? I am not sure that is a good idea. What if we contact a hostile race and they are light years ahead of us in technology? I have found that today...we cannot be too careful. I run Seti@Home because I love astronomy, cosmology, and feel that it is my responsibility to help any way I can to learn what the meaning of life and existence is. If I can help discover if we are not alone in the universe, my life thus takes on greater meaning. I feel that Seti@Home is wonderful.
My daughter loves it too and participates in this project.
