Personal background |
I'm completing my last year at UC Santa Barbara as a Business/Accounting Major. I hope to go into auditing afterwards, and my only real hobby is collecting small animals to grow my empire.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. I think that extraterrestrial life does exist, but it seems like it may take many generations to even have evidence of it and more to actually see it with our own eyes. I think that the ultimate benefit of seeing extraterrestrial life would be that it would knock humans off their high horse and maybe lead to them respecting another culture. That is of course only going to happen if they are more advanced than us.
2. It doesn't hurt to try, so why not send a beacon. Though it may not be possible, I think that information leading to a picture or coordinates would be the most useful information.
3. I run SETI@home because I've got a 2 gig computer that's sitting here most of the time so it might as well do something and earn its keep. That, and I like the graphs. |
