Personal background
Well, what can I say I’m a 14 male. I'm a freshman in high school. I'm first in my class. I like to look at the stars and wonder... wonder is there anybody out there. I also like computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I can’t help but believe that extraterrestrial life exists. I mean how can you say that out of all the wonders of this universe that we call home, we’re the only ones out there. It seems impossible to me that there is no one else. I think that humans will discover it through programs like SETI@home. If we do find them it will have enormous scientific outcome, but at the same time if we do find them there could be a mass panic that could cause mass damage to the society as a hole.
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? Well it is my personal opinion that we should. Sending this beacon could help whatever’s out there find us. For all we know whatever’s out there could be searching too. In the beacon I think we should have information about who we are, what we are and where we are.
I run SETI@home because part of me wants to believe that with my one slow home computer running SETI@home I can make a difference. It is my opinion that SETI@home is a wonderful organization that I would like to see it keep going for years to come.
