Personal background |
I began running seti@home in 2000 on a home-built, dual Pentium II system (a beast in its time). After 4 years and countless processing hours, I turned my office into a baby room and crunching ceased until 2017. I restarted a new seti machine in February 2017 and began work on squeezing more performance from an i7 6700k and a couple of EVGA GeForce 1070s. This setup worked very well but after seeing what was being accomplished by many others, I began a new, dedicated, seti build using an i7 6850k, quad 1070s and water-cooling all around. The machine turned-out better than I could have hoped and is now crunching away 24/7 in my increasingly crowded server closet. |
