Personal background
I live in Sweden, Luleå. I'm a 28 year old man with a huge interest in computers and everything related to space and science. Currently i'm unemployed but hopefully that will change soon. I do some freelance computer graphics work meanwhile i try to find a real job, mostly 2d and 3d jobs. It's what i like best of all.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life should exist because 'it' would have the same random chance of existing as we do in universe. But to recieve some sort of radiosignal from them i think is highly unlikely, they probably use some other kind of communication method. Benefits of such a discovery to find ET out there would be tremendous, new technologies, 'ufo' technology, biology knowledge, starmaps and lots lots more. Dangers of contacting ET's would be if they where hostile ofcourse. Then we would most likely be in very big trouble, no need to mention anymore about that.
We should have a beacon transmitting data on who we are and where in the universe to find us and that we hopefully won't be hostile if we get visitors.
I run SETI@home because i wanna contribute all i can even though i don't have very powerful computers but every contribution i hope helps. The SETI project i think is a good thing but the whole world should be putting in money into this project or else only one country will benefit from whatever results will be achieved. My only suggestion is.. keep going until we find those aliens! :)
