Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The universe is so vast i'd have to have a pretty small mind to think that we are the only living entity in it. How life would exist is unkown, and perhaps isn't as advanced yet. The vast distance in space is phenominal and ever growing. Travel to us is yet limited, If there are Beings with intellegence to travel, they may concider themselves to advanced for us to interfere with our civilizations. But the benefits would be great! New technologies, biochemistry etc. I don't think any civilization capable of space travel would be looking to destroy us but to communicate.

We should send beacons of welcome and where we are from and a little about us.

I run seti because i enjoy science. Every answer opens more questions. So, I hope to help search for more questions, and perhaps well just perhaps be to dumfounded for a little while to ask any questions ....just be AWESTRUCK!!!

Maybe I'm a dreamer lol
