Profile: KWSN - Buba the Minotaur

Personal background
I am a Computer geek who trys to avoid spending to much time on the machine anymore. I enjoy reading or being out in the garden playing in the dirt. Other outdoor activities include hunting, fishing, and sitting in the garden reading (funny how reading and gardening keeps coming up). I have been doing a lot of the DIY thing of late. My core reading material is SF & F, and history, but I never really know what I will pick up next. I tend to be flipped about most things because people take themselves too seriously. I do dislike those serious people (You know the type, Politicians, Televangelists, etc) who act or react with incomplete information that seems only to server some very limited goal or idea which is based on what is at best, faulty logic. I have been called "A Virtual Cornucopia of Virtually Unless Information" which has lead to me being unjustly accused of being a Know-it-all or even a Smartass from time-to-time. I tend not to speak much unless I really know what I am talking about, and then I can become quite talkative. I am a decent dart, billiard, and card player. I have a Yellow Lab who loves his Frisbee and is my 80 pound lap dog, a grey tabby which likes to take over my lap and keep the dog on the floor (She is so smug when she does that), and recently got a gray tortoise shell kitten (I call her Turtle) which was wean a bit too soon and likes sucking on ear lobes which is fine except at 3:00 AM when I am trying to sleep. I try to write but am never very happy with the results (if you can?t see the humor here then this would be an example). My poetry is said to be good. I think that about covers all point in a very general sense. I guess I could sum it all up with: Reading, Gardening, Pets. I think I need to get out more.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligent is a subject that has intrigued me since I became aware of the subject. The possibilities, good and bad, are endlessly fascinating and I have always believed in knowledge for knowledge's sake is a good thing even if the use of the of that knowledge maybe not be wisely advised. I think the likelihood of this project actually finding Extraterrestrial Intelligent is slim but is the best than can be done in the current state of the art.
