Personal background

I am a computer nerd from Omaha, NE. I run SETI@Home command prompt version on 2 computers. Mine is a 1.33GHz Thunderbird w/ 512MB PC2100 RAM running Windows XP Professional. The other is a 667MHz Pentium 3 w/ 256MB RAM running Windows 2000 Professional.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It's naive to think that we are alone in this universe, don't you think? Whether you believe it or not, our universe is bigger than anyone can comprehend. I mean, even those images they have from millions of light years away are even farther than they show. Not to get into too many physics, but our current technology is actually looking into the past, given the speed of light is a constant. You don't think that there is a chance that one of those many billions of galaxies has a solar system comparable to ours, where another planet has experienced the same life form evolution as we have. Maybe even formed intelligent life? I know SETI is a reach, but at least we have a chance.
