Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been fascinated by all things in our known universe since I was a little boy. I truly believe that we are not alone in this universe. There is no way we are part of a unique accident. To think so, in my mind, is too narrow-minded and egocentric. I believe that the SETI program has every chance to succeed and that 3.5 million like-minded people can't all be dancing on the wrong foot. We have neighbors out there somewhere and I want to be the one who hears them knocking at our door. What will we do when we find that neighbor? How will we contact them? Will they be happy we did? Will they react with friendship or aggression? I only hope I live long enough to find out. Never give up.
