Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I first heard of SETI@home I thought that it is just the thing I needed - it gives me the chance to do something different. When I look around me I see the beauty of the Earth and enjoy just being here. But when in a clear night I look up, I wonder if there's some place more or less like it, or if there's someone else looking back at me. So, SETI@home comforts me that I do my best to hold out my hand to the Universe and say "I'm here and I'm waiting for you. And it does not matter if you are or you are not there." I honestly do not expect to find anything; but still I believe that we're not alone. The big question is "Will we, or they, or anyone make it? Will we ever be in touch?". And the big answer is... 42... ;-)
