| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. Do I think Extraterrestrial life exists?, yes, I think Man would have to be pretty Vain to believe that with all the stars out there, that ours (sol) is the only one capable of supporting life! the benifits of discovery are A) knowledge is everything, if the life is dangarous for warned is for armed, B) any proven knowledge would excellerate our own space program which is dragging shamefully slow.
2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?. we already are. every radio transmission, microwave, satcom, tv signal, cell phone. or any other of thousands of radio transmissions are already being broadcasted, to ad another one would just intensify the mish mash we are already sending out.
3. Why do I run SETI@home? my computers are on line 24-7 and I am not here a lot, which to me is waisted processing power. someone might as well use it.
