Personal background |
My name is Reuben Archilla, I'm 75 years old, retired from the medical profession, a skeptic, non-theist, voracious reader (politics, culture and PHYSICS) and glad to be part of this venture. I enjoy rock and classical music with equal passion. I consider myself a good cook and appreciate a fine wine. Originally from Manhattan, I spent my adolescent years in Mount Vernon, N.Y. and Milford, Ct and then spent my high school years in North Jersey. I hold a B.S. degree in Biology and A.A degree in Emergency Medicine. I currently teach Basic Life support for the AHA to nursing students and as a contractor for Rutgers University, I instruct medical students in physical exam procedures at various med schools in the NY, NJ metro area. I would appreciate meeting like minded people for conversation and idea exchange. I was engaged in social media some years ago, but I found it an unsatisfying method for important discourse. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Promotion of science is a vitally important goal, especially since too many of our citizens are ignorant of the physical world. I'm a fan of Carl Sagan and I see this venture as a way of honoring his legacy. I think you are all doing a wonderful job; keep up the good work. |
