Profile: Tatiana Valentin

Personal background
My name is Tatiana, I'm from Los Angeles CA working in the film and TV industry as a wardrobe costumer. My head is always off on some fanciful adventure in the stars with all the sic-fi books I read, and when I'm not busy with a book or work, I like contemplating the heavens and what secrets it holds.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I dream of us finding life in this universe outside of our planet in my lifetime. I admit that any life would be exciting, intelligent or no, although because I didn't gear my career down a path that would have me working IN SETI, I do my best by contributing my computer power to find signals from intelligent life. Its a huge task but I know we'll succeed - I'll remain hopeful.

My only suggestion would be this:

As a newcomer I find this site and BOINC a bit intimidating and difficult to manage - I'd almost love a "beginners guide" and maybe a page dedicated to what HAS been accomplished by this program (in layman terms even - just to start off, to get in the grove - a jumping off point.) Maybe this already exists, but again, I am having a hell of a time trying to figure this all out! :) I think maybe that would help a lot of people ease more into this, because I'll admit, I have BOINC running on my computer and I know basically what its doing...but I'd say I maybe fully understand about 25%.
