Profile: Chad William Amundsen

Personal background
I work for Menards, as a Forklift Driver. My Primary skills are: Graphic Arts, Drawing, Creative Thinking. I used to work in the Information Services field for an insurance company (Mostly Data Security) but most of us got laid off. I'm Married, w/2 children, and my Daughter seems to have similar interests in Scifi/Science as do I. I thought my son would be the one to follow in my footsteps, but he's more like my wife. Computer's is my primary hobby, seconded by my desire to draw.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there may be other races out there, or it may be ourselves visting from the future, or the third possiblity is there are parrallel universes, which our technology can't detect. What ever may come true in our vast collection of Science Fiction, one day, we'll discover the Facts. Every 18 months the power of the computer chip doubles, (a statement from an IBM executive, long ago) So in 25 to 50 years we'll be able to crunch unimagineable amounts of data. Keep Crunching..

I did a few calculations: by Christmas 2031 the speed of a home computer will exceed 1,677,721.6 Gigahertz based on my 1.59 Gigahertz HP Windows XP system bought at Best Buy on January 2, 2002 which wasn't on the shelf yet.

My calculations go up to and past June 20, 2051 were the speed has past 12 Billion Gigahertz (13,743,895,347 Gigahertz)
