Personal background
I am a 24 yr. old from Cincinnati. I have always been interested in science and technology. I frequently read many science magazines and have also read books about quantum physics and astronomy. Since I installed seti@home on my computer I have been inputing the location data into my copy of RedShift 4, in an attempt to find out the source of the signal. Just call it my need to know.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes. Probably not till after we leave the planet. Possibly by building radio telescopes on the dark side of the moon or Pluto where we could probably get a better signal. Benefits would most likely be interstellar trade and sharing of technologies and knowledge. The dangers would be diseases, war, and racism.
2. Yes. A message of peace.
3. Because I believe in the cause. I think it's a worthy project. Suggestions in answer 1.
