Personal background
I work for the City of Mesa, Arizona as an ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Analyst. I spend all day working with technology and yet spend much of my 'spare' time playing with technology as well.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The prospect of finding out something spectacular about our universal neighborhood just by sharing some unused CPU time is a good thing. It would be nice to be able to show that there is more life in the universe than just us.

To quote Monty Python:

"Let's pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space because there's bugger all down here on earth."
