I sure hope so. I really miss the project, and building computers specifically for it.

Wow, so sad to hear :(
I've been crunching for 7 years, and have enjoyed building machines and telling friends about the project. I was even considering UCB for my MS one of these days because I wanted to focus on SETI and the distributed computing systems that UCB manages.
Hoping that SETI finds new reasons to collect and crunch data soon.

Typically running 3 WU's on it at a time, which now will vary from 1hr 30 min to 3 hours each.

My app_config looks like this: http://pastebin.com/dN076Z6s

I guess this seems somewhat normal, maybe a bit on the slower side.

For a slightly overclocked GTX 970?

I have noticed my teams RAC slowly decreasing the past few weeks, though some members do not seem to be as affected as others.

Thank you so much for the response! I was getting ready to RMA my card, because of the aforementioned symptoms, and my RAC falling.

Is it normal for these VLAR tasks to take between 1-4 hours?

Has anyone else been experiencing slow GPU tasks the last few weeks?
My GTX 970 was handling 3 tasks at a time, and only took 8-15 minutes per task to complete.
Now it's more like 45 minutes to an hour and a half per task, and it seems that my GPU is not being utilized to its potential as it was before.

For example, my GPU used to be at 65 degrees celcius and use ~ 85% VRAM when crunching, now it's at around 50C and ~35% VRAM.

Anyone having similar issues, or have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Thank you for the quick response and information :)

So, it does sound like I would get a decent boost with a 2nd 970, but it wouldn't exactly be 2x as much as I'm getting with 1 970 because of diminishing returns (as they will both be tied to the same speed)?

Sounds like it might still be worth it then. I'll probably be doing it either way to be ready for VR in 2016, so any improvement to my RAC will just be a bonus. I basically just wanted to make sure that I would be getting some sort of gain.

Hello everyone,

So I am considering buying a 2nd GTX 970 to help with my average; I was going to run them in SLI.

I was researching if there would be any problems in crunching SETI tasks in SLI, and it appears that there were issues, but the most recent topic I could find was from 2009.

Is this something that is now possible? Or should I avoid SLI for crunching?

Thanks!

I am still getting some task for cpu, but nothing for gpu, i read most of the post here, but didnt find any answers, less i over looked it, can someone plz explain it to me plz.

Same here. I haven't had a GPU task for ~4 days, though my log shows it is "Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA" when I update the project (Running ver: 7.4.27).

Anyone have any idea as to when GPU tasks will become available again?

I have a new GTX 970 eagerly awaiting some crunching :)
