This morning the files were not back and I still got the failure. I have set to use gnu always now, we'll see how that works. Thanks for all the help.

Where are you looking for these files? I have a mid 2010 iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB video card and 8GB of memory. Running El Capitan Any seti@home files that require GPU fail very quickly leaving a message in the event log "100% Computation error (0.271 CPUs +1 AMD/ATI GPU"

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered. I am running OS-X 10.11.1 El Capitan all seti@home data that requires a GPU errors out after a very short period. Boinc 7.6.12 The drivers with El Capitan seem to like the card OK but set@home does not. What am I missing here?

Thanks,
Stephen Hawkins

On the old seti there was a feature where you could "touch" a file named stop_after_send and that would let the seti software know to not get any more work after it finished the current work unit. This was useful if you needed to shut the computer down for a while for some reason. Is there something like this on BOINC? I have looked and don't see anything that fit the bill although maybe I just haven't had enough coffee this morning.

Thanks for the help. It is crunching along at the moment. Under "projects" is an account manager. I am putting in the correct email address and password but I keeps telling me that it "failed to attach to account manager". I'll have to keep working on this and I'll check out the optimized applications.

I suspect that the server did not like my version of boinc. I installed the latest on and it seems to be working ok. Did things change that much?

2005-11-19 05:51:21 [SETI@home] Project is down

I shut down my clasic seti@home and fired up boinc which I had working a while back. I have not changed anything but the messages above are all I have received for the last 4 days. The web site status pages say everything is up, but my boinc software, as you can see says no.
What is the scoop.

I had seti@home running on my linux box with just under 3000 wu. I stopped it at the end of a wu and downloaded and installed boinc. I believe that I attached it correctly and started it up. On the screen over and over I got messages saying things that implied that there was no work to do. And that it was waiting to contact the server. Each time the wait got longer. after about 4 hours I shut it down and started the old seti@home back up which found plenty of work and is cranking along just fine. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
