Ok. Thank you for the info. This old pc is slow anyway. I sure wouldn't want to make it any slower. It's a very reliable Pc, don't want to mess with that.

Is it possible to run more than one task at a time on this Nivida gt 430 (PCI)Cuda Gpu? If so how do I do that? Currently I run 2 tasks at once on this old machine. 1 on the cpu, and one on the Gpu I installed. Thanks for the help if there is one.

Ha Ha, that's funny stuff. Yeah I'm having a blast so far and I've really just been using the 2 meter HT. Gotta start somewhere.

Now I've got the little HT, My homebrew Seti cruncher, and a old Cb base station that's not connected to a real antenna yet. I'm getting my shack started. Such as It is. I'm having fun , so thats all that matters.

Well I'm just starting out, and have a long way to go. It's so interesting to me, I doubt I will ever Tire of it. Since I'm disabled, and unable to get around much, this seems to be the perfect Hobby for me. There is just so much to learn. Thats the fun part for me. I'm really hands on. I also like to listen, but the voice part is going to be cool when I get an HF Rig. I made a few contacts last weekend during the Field day event. Now I'm itching to get my General class ticket and a radio. Gotta get the YL into it so the $$$$ won't freak her out.

I've always been into radios. I have Cb's ,scanners, old tube sw/broadcast radio, and now a ham radio. Always wanted to get the license, but somehow it never became a priority. Took the class and got my Tech license. Next step is the General class. Anyway it's a lot of fun and I also get to listen for who knows what. It's all part of my listening and monitoring station here in my garage.

Hey it keeps me busy. :-)>

Anybody out there into Ham Radio? Just got my license a few weeks ago, and there's a lot of stuff that kind of goes hand in hand with Seti. Lots of satellites and lots of things to listen to. Just wondering.

MSATTLER,

Thank you very very much. I did what you said and the old Garage Cruncher is cranking it out, and I am very pleased.

Again thank you soooo much. You made my day and then some. It sure is nice to know that people out there are willing to help someone in need. I know it wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of thing's, but it was a big deal to me. I want to participate to this project as much as I can.

Thanks again

Man I'm lost. getting bummed out on this. I go to the Lunatics apps, and not really sure which one to download, and when I found one and tried to download it, I get this windows site that wants me to find a online a zip file opener. I've never done that, and didn't have to do that on any of the lunatics apps I've used before. It's been awhile since I messed with this stuff, and I had a good idea what I was doing.

Now I don't know what the heck is going on here. I just want it to work. :-)>

Ok. Every thing is running like the monitor and what not, and seti is running one task, and quake watcher is also working. So is it the new lunitics app I need to get up and running to full speed? AK_VB8_win_sse is running at 99% cpu.

I have been running seti just fine on the garage cruncher for over a year and all of a sudden it isn't working. I noticed this around january 31st. I have been busy with other things, so I haven't payed much attention to it since I have another pc working 24/7 also.

I tried to download the latest version of seti v7 with neg results. This pc has been rock solid with no errors for a long time.

Now I'm getting a notice that reads; your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usuable version of seti2 home version 7.

What do I do? Please help me if you can.

Seti is running on this pc, but it won't let me see what it's doung. The Nvida card is not running. Back it the day when it was working I was running two tasks at once on this old machine.

I think my Lunatics app ak_v8b2 win32.vo.40 is no longer valid. Now what do I do?

Ha Ha Ha, no I never screwed anything up. I worked hand in hand with the IT guys. When something went wrong it was either mechanical/electrical or the pc program went TU. So it usually took myself and a It guy to resolve the problems.

I've been having a problem with errors when trying to crunch Nvidia work. I've updated the driver and it still wont work. It's on my dell laptop listed as Home on my host list which you can see. I did install Lunitics awhile back, and it ran fine. For months now I'm unable to use the Gpu. Any thoughts?

I was the the Engineer that ran the Colleges Hvac System, which ran a program through Johnson Controls and Honeywell. It was a very intense programm to say the least. The Computer program ran everything from parking lot lights, water sprinklers,boilers,a/c units, air comp, room heaters blah ba blah ba bla. I used to look at that UPS in awe. It was huge. The battery case was bigger than any 3 PC Towers. Not sure of the hours it could run,or what it was rated at, but it must have been pretty big. The IT dudes took care of that and any program problems. All I had to do was push keys, and update all the class and campus schedules. That in its self was very time consuming. Never lost any Data due to power failures, and we had a lot. Thats what I want. Just kidding of course. It would be cool though. It would make the farm look pretty awesome.
I think all I really need is one of those smaller personel units, just to get by and properly shut down the PC. Rambling I know. To much Coffee. :-)>

Peace Out

Yeah it really is a pretty general question to be sure. Just started looking in to it. I don't really need much. The desktop only runs Seti, but I will be installing a earthquake sensor to it. Since the monitor will be reporting 24/7 I don't want to loose any data and screw anybody up. Same goes with Seti which is of course my favorite program. So far Seti hasn't suffered at all during a power outage.
