Oh dear. Republic means "the people rule" in Latin. Democracy means "the people rule" in Greek. There is no need for a Electoral College in any country but the USA. Why?

Because 'Mob Rule' is not Democracy.....(See the newly formed country of Chaz or Chop or whatever it's name is today).

Those are not excuses but rather an explanation of why your basic understanding of American government and the election process is flawed.

The Governor didn't matter so much as there was check and balance in the Legislature, but now that both houses and the executive office are controlled by the Dims (which I surmise will change in November), the State is careening into Socialist hell (comparable to California).

So few people voting is the result of general apathy on the part of many citizens. I think that is changing rapidly and there will be a backlash at both the State and Federal levels in November.

I have never failed to vote in any election as I regard that as both a duty to my country and a privilege not all people in the world can enjoy. And yes I do want my vote to count, why would you ask such a question?

Is it really a good idea to have a result that differs from the majority decision?


1) ....for the 500th time(possibly an exaggeration but close), it WAS NOT A MAJORITY DECISION! AS only 1/3 (aprox.) of eligible voters bothered to cast a ballot there was no MAJORITY!

Perhaps a better idea is to require a quorum for any Presidential vote to be valid or the vote must be taken again.

"Do it over 'til you get it right".

2).....again, for the 500th time, (see above) the USA is a REPUBLIC, not a Democracy. It is a REPRESENTATIVE form of Government, meaning in this context that the Electoral College members REPRESENT the will of the people making up their mandate support.

Mob rule is not a recognized form of Government in the US (with the possible exception of downtown Seattle).

And that petition was initiated SIX YEARS ago and was supported by only 440 people.

........which (in the USA) are determined at the ballot box, not by weaponizing the Judicial and Intelligence systems as has been determined was done by the outgoing (and legally defeated) administration.

A failed coup attempt in most parts of the world is rewarded by the execution of the perpetrators. In the USA it will be rewarded by some Judicially applied penalties when the cases are tried. I'm sure many of the Obamanations involved are making sure their lawyer's retainer fees are up to date.

And OF COURSE the DIMS are throwing shade on any investigation into something that would most assuredly lead to more support for The President(as he would ONCE AGAIN be proven to have been correct).

And OF COURSE Antifa members claim 'there is no organization'...........because that is how insurrectionists survive when the authorities are on the trail...

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country’s worst-affected city, Mumbai, has surpassed Wuhan in China, where the virus first appeared.

Not a good comparison as I think everyone agrees that any of the numbers reported by China are highly questionable. That however is a minor concern to the people of Mumbai. Here's a city where the population lives in each other's pockets even more so than New York. The majority of them 'dirt poor' by modern standards and unable to quarantine in any sense of the word.

And correct 'hospitalization' statistics will only reflect those who actually get admitted there.

Yes, India and many third world peoples are going to have a tough go, India will be a real testing ground of the effectiveness of masks but little else. And this is the reason for a rapid development AND deployment of a vaccine. That is the only hope for survival the elderly in those places can cling to. And one wonders what effect the Polio vaccination fiasco still smoldering in the Indian courts whether based on fact or rumor, will have on willingness to receive ANY inoculations.

Yes, moomin, true. Sweden has a long history of supplying high quality military equipment, most notably aircraft (Saab Viggen and Draken).

Which only enforces the point that making what you require locally can be done by any determined people. Self sufficiency has been a way of life in most Scandinavian countries by necessity as it has been in rural America.

We can build our own military aircraft, and you do buy some of our hardware, the L1118 and M777 along with the M982 Excalibur are examples,. And you nearly bought the AS90 after the M109 was defeated in a competition at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, until the Senate went all isolationist again

I'm not saying you can't and don't build very reliable and competent systems, some of them cutting edge(Harrier), but the majority of most military equipment in the world falls into the three influences I mentioned.

This is due obviously to the desire of China, Russia and of course the US to influence the behavior of the customer states and that it aligns with that of the supplier state. This doesn't always work out (i.e. Russia/Egypt in the later 20th century, the US and Cuba and in Iran).

My point is that to insure absolutely the security of your national resources(militarily, agriculturally, medically, etc.) to rely on external sourcing can lead to foreign control or interruption. Even with the most trusted and reliable allies (i.e. WWII and the North Atlantic U-boat predation on shipping to England).
