umm... bit too much technical stuff for me..

So I may actually have a GPU and not know it because the driver isn't installed?

ok, thanks. Not sure what a GPU is, but I think it's a kind of graphics card, right? I thought I had one of those :-/

I do seem to be able to accept Astropulse WUs though as it's working on one right now.

I have set in my "computing preferences" for it to use up to 100GB of disk space, yet it's only using 5.5MB

Any idea why?

And how do you expect that the computations will begin before the task is downloaded?

I wasn't expecting that obviously.

I was just surprised that the computer hadn't already downloaded some more data ready to start processing before it had finished the previous jobs. Usually it does that, ie overlaps them. This morning it left itself with no data to process. I was just surprised, that's all.

My SET@home screensaver is saying "no active projects" and the BOINC manager shows two projects awaiting download (but not actually downloading). The status says "download pending : project backoff 00:1:40

What is happening? Anyone know?[/img]
11) Questions and Answers : Getting started : What does "average credits" mean? (Message 1184043)

ok. Thanks for that.

I guess it's just something that has to "spool up" as I remain active for longer...

Thanks both.

Not really sure I understand the calculation. If it's an average, I was expecting the numerator to be total credit and the denominator to be something like number of days, or number of projects or some such.

So, on day one, I'd expect total credit to equal average credit.

But it doesn't seem to work like that.

I am new to this... does it mean average credits per work unit?

This doesn't seem to be explained anywhere..

Thanks
