Winning while starving (got a gastroscopy later this afternoon so have to fast!!)

I just forgot I didn't have any breakfast when I came back from the doc...

Anybody got a few good recommendations on getting your weight up that don't involve eating lots of fat?

Winning with space in a size 10 trouser...

good morning everybody.
125g of Marmite seems hardly worth buying, though, when you can get 500g jars ;)

On the other end of the spectrum (i.e. very low end), I've been running

<cmdline>-ffa_block 2048 -ffa_block_fetch 1024 -unroll 4</cmdline>

I can probably go somewhat higher, but if tasks take some 16 hours on a host running about 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, any testing takes a lot of patience ;)

would this be an other one here ?

cuda-fermi -12 errors ?

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=773106303

if you have a close look the 6.03 result shows a -9 overflow and 26 triplets.
The GPU shows a similar error message but ungracefully ends up -12 and not -9.

What can I say. I am part of this mess. Just curious, if it ever validates.
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=768865325

Interesting string of errors on that one - all GPUs, too.
Three 6.09 cuds23s and the 6.10 cuda-fermi got -12 errors, and the 6.08 cuda got a -177 error.
If the 2nd Anonymous Platform (NVidia GPU) doesn't validate, send it to one of my 6.03 cpus (8{)

-12 are 'found triplet twice' - as far as I understood it, a problem in the original NVidia GPU code of the triplet finding code, which Jason managed to mostly eradicate from his builds.
It has gone to a GPU running x38g so should validate.

-177 are 'maximum time exceeded' - more than 10x the original estimate. you may see that if a task gets stuck or does CPU fallback. You also see it when boinc goes berserk with it's dcf and ends up with far too small estimates when the tasks come in. Strangely enough here the app crashed and did the full windows debugger output, that would usually get a plain -1 or some other strange number error. My guess is it got stuck there and was caught by the 'abort because it exceeded the maximum time' mechanism.

What will happen if one tries to run the installer without the minimum driver level installed?
Will the installer detect this and advise?
Or will the install proceed and crash things when Boinc restarts?

No, the installer can't detect the driver, it's up to the person installing to check that they meet the requirements.

In the case of the app finding herself without a Cuda 3.2+ driver it will do CPU fallback. Depending on the relative speed of the GPU this can either work (small/slow cards) or lead to -177 errors.

Is it possible to download AP r521 separately somewhere. The version on Lunatics site is r456.

I don't want to risk messing up a working system with the installer, when I can so easily manually install the app.

Download the Installer, then extract the apps from the Installer with 7-Zip,

I was wondering if you could do that...

Anyway I've stuck it here

Many Information...

May i ask a question, neverless? Is there a reason why i should update my CUDA App x32f to x38g_cuda32?

Helli

It's quick a bit faster, ;-)

Claggy

And that is, as Jason keeps repeating, with only a negligible amount of actual optimisation put into the code.
