Thats a sweet setup you got there! I remember my days when I had a half rack of my own... good ol' days...

What OS are you running? Are you going to host/run? anything on those servers?

BTW.. I've just notice you got the same monitor as me :) "Acer".

I've just reinstalled BOINC/Lunatics on my rig, so I think I will sit and watch the fireworks. If everything is OK, and after reading the forums for any issues, then I will turn my rig on.

I see a lot of folks moving into the AMD Phenom X6 1055T, I also have this processor its quite fast, and it can overclock easily! Great cpu and at a cheap reasonable price :) Can't beat 6 cores for $180..

Well my old 80GB SATA I died on my 2 weeks ago, so went to Newegg and bought me 2 500GB HD502HJ. They are single platter drives from Samsung.

I have them in Raid0, and its more than enough for what I currently have.

Now I have enough space to put some VM's and finally I can install my Steam games :)

I got them for $55 for each drive so its a decent price for them.

I had asked myself this exact same question.. do I get a second 295 or do I go with a 470...

At the moment you can easily get a 295 for 225-300 and for the same price you can get 470. I decided to get two 470's instead, because FERMI is where is at! Fermi is a new technology, and I've seen good results on a non-optimized app, so would you imagine what the performance will be on a optimized app?

I currently have 2 PNY 470's that I will be water colling soon. They run a bit hot, but that's typical for a Fermi card. I like the performance so far.

I love my 295, but I know its a dying gen video card, once the optimized Fermi app comes out, we will see more and more FERMI cards on top.

Just want to give Jason, and BIG BIG thank you for continuing his work on optimizing the Lunatics apps for all the Fermi owners! Thanks Jason!

Dave,

I don't really use the nvidia control panel to oc my nvidia cards, I use EVEGA Precision instead. I would start incrementing little by little, watching out the temps now and then. I wouldn't push a GT 220 more than 80C.

When building a new PC, buying the motherboard is one the most important things to consider, since this is where everything will come together.

About two months a go I started on a new build based on to chrunch/play/work.

I bought the MSI NF980-G65 is an AMD/SLI board, very rare to find these days.. I currently have a Phenom II x6 1055t @ 3.3GHz just playing it safe for now... and 4GB's of GSKILL RipJaws @ 1600 and a pair of PNY GTX 470's.

I am an Nvidia fan, and I love AMD so this board works very well for me. I heard good things about the Intel boards as well especially X58 chipset.

Good luck with your motherboard choice :)

Great work! This must have taking you some time to finish, but well worth it for individuals who have 200's series cards.

I would like to see one of these benchmarks for 400's series cards..

Great job! and keep posting those benchmarks!

P.S. This is my 1st post yay!!
