do people get out of the passing lane in Cali or Nevada when a car flashes its lights. In Texas, thats an invitation to have someone stomp on theit brakes And I just flip the rear-view mirror (at night) to the "night" position and ignore them. During the day I just ignore them. If I happen to be in the left lane in order to turn left somewhere up ahead, I'm not about to get out of someone's way unless it's an Emergency vehicle (police/fire/ambulance). |

Since I don't own a telescope, I just mounted my 12 x 50 binoculars to my camera tripod, capped one side and aimed it toward the sun, then used a piece pf paper behind the secondary lens to fine-tune the aiming then just moved the paper back a ways (about 15-16") to observe the image; I used the same technique to view the earlier annular eclipse. |

True story: I was at a local BK restaurant not long ago and had just placed my order; there was a teenager in line behind me with her boyfriend. They both looked at the sign for their (BK's) version of the "1/4 lb'er" and she turned to her bf and literally asked, "what's a one slash four ell bee?" I damned near died laughing, as did some of the other diners and the manager. |
