Hiding from todays expected heat.

You must live in the Southwest (probably Phoenix or thereabouts)
I'm up north of there; our temps aren't expected to get above the 80's (F) today.

I'll wait for a few more before I decide on a winner.

The lowest I've seen here in Prescott, AZ. is $3.37/gallon (USD) for regular unleaded, and that particular station just happens to have (almost) always been the lowest in town (an AM/PM station, originally owned by BP, but franchised-out now).

But then again, they're just a bunch of sour grapes.

Just installed Linux (Lubuntu 14.04) on an <older> tower that a friend left here at my place a couple of years ago & then he (seemingly) 'disappeared'. Learning my way around the OS now & so far, I like what I see. Downloaded the BOINC package & running SETI on it.

The tower's a Dell Dimension 4400, Pentium 4, 1.6 GHz Intel processor and a 40GB HDD, with 'only' 512 MB RAM. I wiped the drive (It used to have Win XP Pro) and just installed Lubuntu.
It (seems) to be a bit on the slow side when opening programs or executing commands, but I think I can live with that (for now).
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw so many Ham Radio-related packages available. The graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce II) doesn't seem to be really good enough for games on this machine - but I'll be the first to admit I could easily be wrong about that.

I'll just keep 'playing' with it & learning.

Right now, everyone on the East Coast is keeping his/(her) eye
on "Hurry, King Arthur!". Old English legends never die -- they
just surface in other waves.

I guess you could say 'he's' keeping his eye out for the coast.
