Contrary to popular beliefs, we Cornhuskers, in fact, love badgers. It's just hard to eat a whole one in a single sitting. |

Posted 17 Aug 2015 by Scarecrow Post: I'll jump in with my experience as a TV repair do-it-yourselfer. When we got married my wife had/has an LG flatscreen. Shortly after getting married and moving, the remote quit working. After verifying the remote itself was in fact functional, and finding numerous reports of the IR receiver being a weak spot in that LG model, I found a new IR board for $7 locally and swapped it out. Fixed it... once again could keep my carcass parked on the couch and change channels with the remote. For about two weeks... then the same dead remote symptoms returned. Long story short, it seems the problem all along was a dirty/sticky switch in a jack on the back of the TV, the jack being for an LG hard wired plugin remote. After scrounging a repair manual online I found that if there is a wired remote plugged in, it shuts down the infrared receiver, all from a flakey little reed switch there in the wired remote jack. A little canned air and some contact cleaner and the IR remote has worked fine for a year and a half so far. I guess maybe I should have RTFM to start with. :) |

The other 14 that have been uploaded & reported, as well as several new ones that have been downloaded do not appear in the list. I think until the replica DB comes back online the info shown will be rather stale. |
