it says 'provide for the General Welfare' in the US Constitution in Article 1, Section 8

I'm pretty sure 'General Welfare' wasn't intended to include TV's, computers and toys.

Sure glad I've worked 36 years and paid in over $63,000 so far, so those that have contributed zip can live well.

I'll jump in with my experience as a TV repair do-it-yourselfer. When we got married my wife had/has an LG flatscreen. Shortly after getting married and moving, the remote quit working. After verifying the remote itself was in fact functional, and finding numerous reports of the IR receiver being a weak spot in that LG model, I found a new IR board for $7 locally and swapped it out. Fixed it... once again could keep my carcass parked on the couch and change channels with the remote. For about two weeks... then the same dead remote symptoms returned. Long story short, it seems the problem all along was a dirty/sticky switch in a jack on the back of the TV, the jack being for an LG hard wired plugin remote. After scrounging a repair manual online I found that if there is a wired remote plugged in, it shuts down the infrared receiver, all from a flakey little reed switch there in the wired remote jack. A little canned air and some contact cleaner and the IR remote has worked fine for a year and a half so far. I guess maybe I should have RTFM to start with. :)

Replica is back, sort of. 94,538 seconds behind master.

Heck, in just 26 hours it'll be all caught up. :)

Not running AP here, 20 wu's uploaded and reported. Account page shows 6 of those from 5 hours ago as still in progress. The other 14 that have been uploaded & reported, as well as several new ones that have been downloaded do not appear in the list. I think until the replica DB comes back online the info shown will be rather stale.

Bit warm across the pond is it?

Especially for us fat old men hell bent on going fishing.

Hmm fishing, that's where you sit in a boat drinking beer all day isn't it? :)

Exactly! And if done properly, you aren't bothered by any fish. :)

Central air, don't fail me now! Cold front to the north will improve things, just have to survive the wind/rain/hail/tornadoes when it passes tomorrow.

Pretty sure that was photo shopped Bill! And you are a little stirrer you know :-)

I think a Polar Bear can climb a tree but only if Chuck Norris is there to give it a boost up.

But it is rumoured that Albert does have certain problems.

I wonder is he still a lumberjack and still OK?

Just because the next door neighbour supposedly wears lingerie reading

Size 34 medium
Warm wash 40C
Do not bleach
Warm iron
St Michael brand

Is that Albert, or the other neighbor to the west?

Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed, and some should be banned from being pet owners.

I'd venture that if one belongs in one of those groups, they automatically belong in the other.
