Thanks.
Success with 91.666 = 11 on the Hexacore | 87.5% = 10 which would probably be smarter since its a 3 GPU sys that I run 2 GPU tasks each on

Hoping "web preferences" will work on my 8 core as its a 2 GPU sys that I prefer either all 8 or 7 cores

Gosh, feel like I've been under a rock!
Was *following the testing for awhile with a friend who was doing so at Beta, but "told" not to expect them til September+ - unaware they had been released.
Thanks for the info

I *am still a bit unsettled after Win 10 Pro upgrades on both machines.
And I made a mess of things last time I manually installed an app switch.

Seems straight forward enough to get Intel's latest driver for my HD4600, then enable it in BIOS; followed by Lunatics 43b and app_info.xml edit (offline)

Does that sound right sequence?
=
Edit> most certainly will be messaging Mike for a commandline!

Goodness Gracious! HAL/Richard/Raistmer - not going Near it(iGPU) for APs

I'm practically ecstatic over v7 7.10 opencl_nvidia_100 performance on my 960 and especially, *970.(Thanks Raistmer et al for that)

If the AP mix(availability)is "shorted" towards GPU apps and hardware anytime and only available for CPU apps - I'd like to consider having an app that would handle it - that is, an CPU app that would be *comparable(unlike the older CPU app v7.03 or 05 wasn't it?) to the 7.10 runtimes
(I guess, the Intel opencl isn't classified as an CPU app, since it taps the iGPU ?)

May *consider it when Intel opencl MBs apps are ready and released(either Stock or Anonymous platform versions) but not at the expense of longer runtimes(if that is the case) - that's just counterproductive and the opposite direction of my goals/expectations.

Reducing the CPU clockspeed to 'get it done' is fine by me - that's software technique - the end result(valids with shorter runtimes) is the prize.

Thanks for the illumination gentlemen.

I was viewing/interpreting the chart and these listings in terms of potential horsepower per app

Mentioning, that I *do want to enable my iGD and "test" its performance -
- wishing I could use-try-test the stock apps *and the Lunatics versions; but fear that BOINC may get upset with me and hiccup my otherwise pleasant output/performance to date.

Is there a testbed that I'm not aware of yet? Maybe a Virtual environment or such?

I think my 7589235 is capable of such a mix

Well, I still have this burning question, about that and these:

I trimmed these from the Applications page -

7.10 (opencl_nvidia_100) 6,809 GigaFLOPS

7.10 (cuda_opencl_100) 276 GigaFLOPS

7.09 (opencl_intel_gpu_102) 757 GigaFLOPS

And my *question is: do these GigaFLOPS ratings have anything to do with actual runtimes performance per se - or are they just potentials?

Thanks for stopping by Jord -

Had hope initially that the Title startup message would do

No response for 5 hrs+ had me continuing my own troubleshooting; which ended up *resolving this by "Add Project" from Manager (after running my Registry cleaner, checking on Win 10 Power Settings(yes they had corrupted), fresh clean install Win 10 NVidia driver and Tools reset(NVidia control panel) and reinstalling BOINC 7.6.9 - all to no avail but done cause it needed to be done.

The outcome of reinstating SETI as a running Project :
State: (Error = 200) whole cache "Abandoned"
Pendings retained (505) thank goodness that's a bunch of crunchin left over from the SETI WOW event

Sigh

Update 12:45 CST - still methodically troubleshooting:
Noticed a Critical Update 9/3 in System Restore Log so just restored to *it - which reverted Boinc to 7.6.6

Same [errors] posting in Event Log; Einstein(suspended) still the only Project listed.
=
Updated Comodo security; updated NVidia driver to Win 10 version 355.82 and confirmed/reset settings in Driver Performance and Run utility.
Added unparsed xml, state debug, statefile debug flag; r/r Boinc -

=No change
=
Viewed Local (C:/) File Explorer - BOINC - everything looks right, including 9/4 date on local folders, just not any fresh files
=
Should I try "Add Project" ? or something?
I know there was a Network reset @ colo on Tues; and Matt is reworking the Astropulse Server Hardware(new bigger disks) and Science DB etc per his News release but these errors don't seem related

Just the fact that my account File remains unparsed/executed so, ?????
=
Edit> Just cold booted
"[statefile] set dirty: Set mode" - is still showing up in Event Log - don't know what that is

SETI Account mysteriously missing/absent.
I installed BOINC 7.6.6 Aug 31 (on both my machines>7459057 and 7589235 )- everything running fine til yesterday
I had shut down 7589235 to R/R my 970 GPU (dust bunnies)
When I booted up, Boinc Mgr Event log began complaining (Title [error]) and Seti Acct in fact absent.
=
I have System Restored Win 10 Pro x64 to State before Aug 31 Boinc 766 install;
run some typical diag flags (state-debug, statefile debug, unparsed xml); dloaded 769 and installed + cold boot after, new definitions in Comodo + restart, and this persists (no Seti)
=
I do have a flash drive backup of ProgData BOINC folder from Aug 11, but not sure if this is solution - or just what to restore from it.

Please advice best course...thanks

PS - 7459057 is stable with BOINC 7.6.6 - no blips (so I guess my secondary question is, should I UPdate it to 7.6.9 - or revert one or both machines to 7.4.42 or just 7.6.6 on 7589235 before I move on to more drastic steps

Teaching how to quote, perhaps also useful for others reading here.

Start a quote with a
tag container, and then at the end of the sentence you want to quote, or at the end of the paragraph, end with a
Like so:
Apparently so, Jord. (that was a Jeff B quote-sorry, I'm not very good at *proper quoting in this Forum app yet!) ;)
This will make this quote:
Apparently so, Jord. (that was a Jeff B quote-sorry, I'm not very good at *proper quoting in this Forum app yet!) ;)

Start tag containers always use the thing you want to do, like:
[k]

End tag containers always use the same thing you wanted to do, preceded by a forward slash '/', like:
[/k]

[/img]
(You'll notice I did not use
in the above, that's because I cannot escape it so it isn't immediately executed. But of course, it'll be used in the same way, end with a slash in front.)

Hey thanks Jord!

"However the results file or the stderr file has been corrupted, or not written.
The work unit "vanishing" is a strange one, to me this suggests that the WU file has been deleted before the task has been run, making it impossible to do the correlation between the results and some part of the data file. I recall that there has been some discussion about missing output files over in number crunchers"
=
Right rob - have seen the "no output" many times before, with no consequence; but the missing WU is in fact a puzzle.
As well as the apparent "effect" on my cache and new work downloadability; along with seemingly long wait to purge or redistribute/resend or acquire another wingman on these Invalids and Errors

Apparent that is, that Matt's got his hands full - shuffling DB resources and trying to improve performance

(You GO Matt buddy! You do some amazing stuff for us - and are grossly under appreciated)

THANKS for all you do

Thanks Rob and Jeff for the notes
=
I don't know why that's happening, but probably isn't anything for us crunchers to worry about.
=
Well, on my 4790K-4.3GHz - single GPU/NV-970 sys - Pending bucket is staying at 500>600 since last couple of *weeks(and the DB shuffles + AP and VLAR storms)

RAC took a nice jump during AP storm; but has fallen by 2000+ with all these Pendings (and no new stream/availability of large credits tasks that *seem to validate faster as well, due to their shorter due dates and participation).

On this 4.3GHz machine:
APs run at <39 minutes with the v 7.10 app; MBs at 1-2 hours; CUDAs at 8-25 minutes

I have backed-off to 2x CUDAs instead of 3, to reduce the pressure of those; and free a core to run the other MBs at 8x (instead of 7x)

Can't win tho - if wingmen *and DB don't funnel thru the pipeline

Hey Thanks Cosmic and OzzFan.

Admittedly, grossly Remiss for Forgetting and Oblivious to, the simple discipline and diligence of a Backup or Restore point convention, before Systemic changes like an App_info Edit.

I really wasn't *thinking and had not *prepared - I'm usually more careful.

Must say, unaware of the suspend Network Comm command
Where do I find that?

Thanks for the explanations and prep sequencing - so good to know now, I can just Backup BOINC Dir to a Flash drive or such in seconds - Recover later.
Really didn't know it was that easy.
Great Lesson.

Yep I hear ya Brent. Pretty small fish

Shame that they have to waste away like that for 3 weeks tho.

Must be several hundred like them out there.

I don't necessarily want them back so much as I want someone else to have them - mebe those that missed the opportunity to get any during the Flash flood.

I had to ASK
