Post: THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone on SETI for the hospitality, friendship and support over the years. Thank you particularly to Eric, Angela & Uli for making me most welcome on my visit to Berkeley and especially so for making me welcome at their home. I have had some awful problems with memory since my illness started, but I fondly remember that trip - from wandering the labs at Berkeley, visiting the server cupboard (it's bigger than my own!), seeing that Eric works very much like me - it's an organised mess, WE know where things are though, then on to Eric & Angela's for a BBQ followed by feeding the raccoons that visited their garden in the evening. I appreciate the project is only "hibernating" and I will be here if the project needs help in the future. I am only ever an email away. I have always believed in SETI and its goal and have enjoyed being a small part of the science. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. May you all stay safe from this blessed virus that is causing so much disruption to our lives. Signing off, for now. AndyW - in the UK. |

Bounced back from whatever it was with no ill effects - probably just a winter bug, but in the current climate an element of worry kicked in! Glad you enjoyed your trip - if not somewhat stunted by the virus. There have been plenty of updates for you to enjoy (you'll know what this means! ;) ) I'm hoping our shut down doesn't last the 3 months the Government said it might last night. I really need my new car that is now sat at the Docks awaiting delivery to the car dealers. My old VW is hanging on for dear life and may not make it to the end of the shut down without a catastrophic failure of the auto-box which is showing many signs of having traveled the 216,000 miles on the clock! |

Post: Morning all. I forgot the clock change (1 hour forward into Spring). Woke up and my phone time was different to my much older bedside clock. Actually think it's the first year I've forgotten the clock change! I have no aches & pains, cough or signs of anything much wrong with me, other than a slight fever, but that appears to be reducing. |

The number of cases here is roughly, the number of hospitalised patients, give or take a few hundred. The UK is finally about to start testing the health workers on the front line, to protect both them and the patients. It is repeatedly said that we are 10-14 days behind Italy, but following the same trajectory, which is a worry, especially as our lockdown is a bit of a joke at the moment with people still out and about enjoying the sunshine! Edit - worth saying, forget China's numbers, obviously a complete fabrication! |

Post: I wish I was winning. Andy try and go see a Doctor. You symptoms just don't add up. Worried about you. I'm still alive & kicking. There are no doctors to see. The GP service is online only unless you're dying - which I'm clearly not. I'm feeling fine again this morning. No aches, no sore throat, just a slight fever. Hopefully on the mend and almost certainly not "the" virus. |

Yes it agrees with the reading I got at work and also with the friends that dropped me home - they insisted on shoving theirs (thermometer) in my ear to prove that work were wrong - and then of course got the shock that it was even higher than work booted me out for because by then I was stressed out and hacked off. |

Post: Sounds like a bacterial ear infection rather than Covid-19, I hope I'm not wrong. I hope you are right too. I've been told to avoid Ibuprofen at all costs at the moment because if I do get Covid-19 it makes it worse - for whatever currently unknown reason. Although on paper I am burning up, the reality is that I have managed to vacuum right through the house and cut the lawn this morning! The Sun is shining, I have lots of solar energy being sent to the grid so thought I'd try and use some up today! Vacuuming done. Lawn Cut. Dishwasher run and now the washer dryer is doing it's thing. Total energy consumption - zero! Lovely. Will even be able to cook a renewable energy lunch today. All whilst continuing 100% green SETI crunching. |

Post: How much fever Andy? Low grade and you don't need to worry about Covid 19. If a high fever, see your doc PDQ, You can't see a Doc at the moment. They are all in hiding or helping out at the overflowing hospitals. The good news is that I didn't die in my sleep and I woke without a sore throat or even an ear ache! Did my body mend in the night, will it return later? I do still have a fever of 39.3C (which will stump most of you on here I guess...so about 103F in your currency) but I don't feel the fever - at all. |

I thought I would have the same issue yesterday as we were supposed to be "in lockdown" - but the Government have back tracked (again!) and said that anyone who can't work from home should go to work as normal - which is a far cry from "essential workers only". Profit before people. Anyway, I am now in isolation as I myself have developed a fever. No other symptoms...yet?! |
