Personally I like a good whine.... Merlot goes down well to drown the sorrows of no work available.

What did you expect. Long holiday weekend coming up, time to go boobies up.

Is that a technical or scientific term?

I don't know, but it's my new favorite term! :-D

They always made me refer to it as "Bravo Uniform" on my work orders.

For us it was Tango Uniform, or if it was really bad, Alpha Foxtrot Uniform (Navy always has to be different).

For Seti though it is Sierra November Alpha Foxtrot Uniform - happy crunching

I have Use NVIDIA GPU set to no. I have a ATI card capable of using the GPU but I don't want to use it. How can I stop BIONIC from asking for GPU work units for the ATI. Its doing that now (see below).

Also just curious is there a shortage of work units at the moment. I don't seem to be getting any for my CPU's very often?

3/14/2011 7:25:12 AM SETI@home Reporting 5 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for GPU

Under the activity menu in Boinc Manager set the Use GPU Never option, that should stop it asking for work for the ATI card.

seti should stop playing with its helpers, my opinion, SHUT DOWN SETI fix whats wrong and stop this shit of 1 day of getting work and 2 weeks down time in the last 6 months seti is 80% down what the hell is wrong is anyone smart enough to give a truthful answer?????????????

If you don't like it go find another project it's not like your life depends on seti - yes it has been a pain at times running out of work but things are showing signs of improvement.

It's also interesting to note that the Cricket graphs now show sustained near maximum bandwidth utilization. Without the cyclic pattern we had been seeing before Jeff opened up the tap.

Does that mean we have not found E.T. ;-)

Anyone having trouble downloading AP WU's - I ve got one stuck with the following message :

05/07/2010 15:13:19 SETI@home Temporarily failed download of ap_03no09ae_B5_P0_00123_20100704_10738.wu: HTTP error

Just keeps backing of and then trying again - been doing this for some 15 mins now

The cap on downloads was just lifted, and the servers are gonna get pounded steady as long as they can stay online.
HTTP errors are not uncommon when the servers are running flat out.
Just let it keep retrying and it will download eventually.

Here we go again then....

26C here. Had to stop crunching SETI on CPU as it was getting way to hot. GPU still plodding along nicely though. Running climate prediction.net on CPU as it runs cooler.

Uploads are taking time - not sure why, but it is just a case of hanging on in there and being patient - took a week to upload all my completed tasks.

Looks like something is moving out there in the ether. The 56 wu's I have been trying to report all week have all reported OK, but can't get any new work.

Hurrah - new work
