I checked and there are 6 values that I changed. Looking at my tasks in progress I have a cpu with 12 threads, plus there are 2 additional tasks working which have a different designation that I attribute to the GPUs. If it had changed the workunits I would think that I would see the additional units working. Also looking at the workload on the GPUs in MSI Afterburner it is still the same as before the changes.

Thanks, I was abble to do that. At first I could not find the file, but then changed the setting to all files, after which it located the file. After I restarted Seti, I still don't see that it is sending any more work to the gpu, it appears each is still doing 1 unit at a time from what I can tell. It has been running for about an hour since I made the change. I put in .3 to let it do 3 work units at a time in the several cuda files( about 4 of them if I remember correctly)

I finally figured out where to find the app_info file, and I can look at it, but it won't allow me to make any changes so that I can change the workunits number. Any help would be appreciated.

I just ordered a dual x5680 with 4 gtx580 cards from digital storm, all water cooled and overcloked, just for processing units for Seti. Can't wait to see what kind of numbers this rig can produce. For those interested the cost of this setup is a little over 14 grand. I'll be looking for some advice on how to tweek things for Seti. I have had Seti for a number of years, but just recently finding out about optimized programs like Lunatics, and have no idea where to change the settings to let each gpu process multiple units like I have read about here. So maybe I can get some help from someone with patience for the inexperienced to help out. I have an alienware area 51 with the 980x and 2 gtx 580s now, but so far ot appears one of my olders systems with 2 gtx280s is outperforming it. ( I just installed the gtx580s, replacing the 2 hd5970s that came in the system) I have a long way to go catch Todd:-), but don't mind trying.

I see computers with the same or lesser specs than the ones I have processing average units in much greater quantities than my stats show. What is the magic in achieving this I wonder? For exampleI have one unit with the lastest 980 extreme chip and 2 HD5800 series gpu, and see another user with the same chip and 1 gtx470 gpu. My computer shows an average of 2065 works units since the system came back up, and his shows over 8600. I see others with computers that have lesser specs than ones I have outperforming my systems. I have not done anything other than download and run BOINC on each system. I have set the preferences to let it use 100% of the processor usage.
