I usually remain silent regarding the projects failures, hiccups and just plain strange behavior, but the last couple of weeks HAVE BEEN RIDICULOUS!

I just looked at my GPU temp graph for the past 24 hours and noted that it showed a TOTAL run time of less than 30 minutes. During that period I managed to get about 40 CUDA-FERMI tasks by manually 'prodding' the system and aborting some uploads that had been trying to U/L for greater than 18 hours, thereby dropping the number of stalled uploads to 8 or less on this quad-core machine, allowing it to get 20 new tasks for about 15 minutes of work. This is roughly an approximation of the previous two weeks.

THIS SUCKS! BIG TIME!

Hmmm??? I am running BOINC v7 but have seen NO reference to v7+ anywhere but in this thread. AFIK I have 4 ap v6 tasks waiting to run. I seem to recall having seen a couple of messages saying that there were no tasks available for v7.

Here's my sys info:

Any thoughts as to why no BOINK v7+ and no sign of AP for cuda_fermi?

FWIW... over the last three hours I've accumulated ~200 results waiting for upload!

As is common, server status shows all OK. Cricket graph shows some signs of 'discomfort' going back a number of hours, but not that it's DEAD. Hmmm...

Just a note from the other side of the world... for some anyway.

I am now down to only one task running (GPU GRID) and can't report, upload or download from S@H.

This IS getting tiresome...............

While following this thread a thought has been brewing in 'the back of my mind' regarding the reporting of download requests...

It would be very nice if the 'NO Work Available for...' message were not, in effect, a LIE!.

Something like Scheduler Unable To Send New Work At This Time, would be truthful, and more polite, especially when there are tens of thousands of work-units shown as available.

With that said... I'll try to wait patiently for BOINC to regain its sanity...

This is getting tiresome... get nothing but HTTP ERROR or TIMEOUT with or without a proxy! I have been without any s@h work for more than 24 hours now and am still trying to send 181 completed tasks...

And the ball rolls on...

I have had little luck reporting or uploading finished work for a couple of days now, so I tried a little experiment, as suggested by others.

I could not get any work to transfer with the default settings, i.e. without a proxy, so... I tried the proxy server in Denmark that someone mentioned and got a few files moved, then splat, HTTP Errors.

Back to NO proxy... nothing

Back to proxy... nothing

Now back to no proxy, and W...A...I...T to upload 171 files with about an hour's worth of work remaining to crunch.

At my age I can't remember details that far back... but it may have been a Compaq 'Protable', 9" CRT [an amber one I got from the HeathKit store] and dual floppys.

Since then I have relocated eight times in the US and three times in the Philippines. I have had a busy life over those twelve years.

Perhaps I'll survive, against the statistical odds, for another twelve years...

Hope to see all of you then... ;-)

I am downloading the 267.26 beta driver now...

If all goes well with S@H running alone I MAY try attaching to GPUGRID again in a few days. We shall see...

Thanks for the help!

New (old) 267.26 driver is running, and following a re-set of the clock down to 850 from the default of 900 things seem to be AOK. PHEW...

I kinda jumped-the-gun and have GPUGRID running and am waiting for some AP work.

Time will tell...

Welllll.... Beta testing goes on...

I just ran into the "sticky downclock" gremlin, again. I have been running BOINC 6.12.33 x86 64 for a while and my combined RAC (S@H + GPUGRID) has leveled-out(?) at slightly over 23,000 using nVidia driver 275.33 with my Palit GTX-560Ti Sonic downclocked to 850Mhz.

I switched to the 275.50 driver around an hour ago and 'boink'... downclock!

I have now re-started with AP work disabled. When a 'stable' version of AP For CUDA is included in the 64-bit Unified Installer I'll have another go at crunching AP work-units.

Side-Note: Before installing the 275.50 driver I attempted to install the 266.58 driver and it failed the install saying it was not compatible with my graphics card...

Not entirely germane, but... I am running a new Palit GTX 560Ti Sonic, downclocked to 850Mhz, with a new Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 650 Watt P/S.

After a bit of trial-and-error fiddling it *seems* to be running just fine. It is currently running with the 275.33 driver and Lunatics opt apps. GPU is running a tad warm at ~75c. It runs at ~47c, but somewhat slower, with the 266.58 driver. Otherwise it has been very well behaved...

BTW... crammed it all into a HP Pavilion p6190d box. A rather tight fit!
