With all due respect, Clyde, one does not need to read the press to see Trump for what he is. One merely has to watch him in action.

Now that we have stopped laughing at describing a Never Trump News outlet as "FAKE NEWS" by... :-D

A serious concern:

Does anyone, who are Pro Trump, believe that Trump "hijacking" yesterday's COVID 19 news conference with anti press accusations, correct to do this?

IMHO: It doesn't matter if Trump is correct in his belief that the Never Trump press is disgusting and worse. This was not the time or occasion to do this.

I'm certainly not pro-Trump (and living in faraway southern Africa, I'm merely an outside observer). However, I watched that press conference. Trump's performance in response to a rational and legitimate question from a journalist was, in a word, shameful. Had I been Peter Alexander, I'd have stood up and stopped him in his tracks. His boorish, insulting and incoherent rant was an insult to your entire nation.

As for Trump's ongoing bs about a drug that's going to stop this pandemic, well, frankly, he's living in cloud cuckoo land.

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/488547-california-projects-56-percent-of-the-population-will-be-infected-over-8-week
CALIFORNIA: 56% WILL BE INFECTED
GOV. ORDERS 'STAY HOME'
So what. Lets compare Italy to California. Italy have become a hot spot in Europe with its 60 M population. California has 40 M. After some weeks Italy has now about 40 thousand confirmed cases. The US has now as a total a couple of weeks later 14 thousand cases. In Italy it now seems that every day the new cases are becoming less, in the US it's growing. But of course the number of people that have been infected is by far much more, most likely with magnitudes. Being infected doesn't always mean that you get sick. Most people that get infected doesn't even know they are infected.

Unfortunately, that statement regarding new cases in Italy is not true at all.
Oh. Yes. But the reporting of new cases doesn't happen every day. So what's look good one day could be very bad the next. Like when I check Italy today that reported a whopping 6000 new cases yesterday but today report 0 new cases.

Also incorrect, unfortunately. Most, if not all, countries are publishing daily figures, including Italy. Some countries publish several updates each day. Italy's figures are usually amongst the last to be published, and they only publish once a day, which is why it's currently 0 for today. Look at the graph of daily new cases in Italy. There is a figure for every day since the first reported cases on 22 February. There were admittedly a few days recently (15 to 17 March) when that figure stabilised and even decreased, but the overall trend is one of an exponential increase.

That said, I completely agree with the point you have made about the USA's trajectory. The USA is in trouble, and the death rate in the USA is showing signs of a rapid, exponential increase.

There lays America's main problem today. There's an old saying, pay peanuts & you get monkeys. It seems America much prefer clowns.
The problem with this analogy is that the salary of those 'clowns'(agree completely with the label), is a LOT of peanuts, and they KEEP collecting it after leaving office.
Agree & sadly America is not alone there.

Interesting and informative that the last 4 posters, 3 American and 1 Irish, with very different opinions about most subjects, agree about politicians.
Make that one Swede as well:)

I suggest you... [snip] ...look up the terms of that EU Partnership Agreement Zambia has with the EU, they will completely empty your EEZ of all marine life for the pittance they offer your Government, your Coastal Communities will catch nothing, you have yet to see the size of the factory ships they will send to do this. Ask people in other African Coastal States what has happened to them.

Whilst I am not in a position to comment on the general point you make about the impact of EU-African agreements on African marine life, your statement as it pertains to Zambia is factually flawed (and therefore makes no sense), for two reasons:
(1) Zambia is a landlocked country (whose economy, incidentally, is based largely on minerals and agriculture, not fishing).
(2) As far as I can ascertain, Zambia has not signed the Economic Partnership Agreement that several other members of the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) region have.

Such errors do your credibility no good.

It's a problem with Climateprediction.net (CPDN), which becomes apparent if you look at your team's BOINCstats Project List. The error occurred on 28 June 2018, and it's affected other teams too.

CPDN has been having system issues lately. There are some threads in the BOINC Projects message board that allude to it, and there's a tweet on the project's main page.

Your math sucks.

99.999 Percent of World Will NEVER, visit China.
We'll ignore your first clanger, which is that 18.6 % of the world's population actually lives in China!

The world's population is approximately 7.6 billion people. Let's subtract China's currently estimated population of 1.412 billion people, which leaves 6.188 billion non-Chinese-resident inhabitants of the world. If, as you contend, 99.999% of them will never visit China, then just 61,880 of them will.

However, as of 2015, China is the fourth most visited country in the world, ... , with 56.9 million international tourists (per annum). Put another way, 0.92 % of the non-Chinese-resident inhabitants of the world visit China each year. I concede that just over half of those visitors are from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. However, even discounting those visitors, your factoid is not even close to the truth - it is completely fake.

99.999999 Percent of Peoples of dA World WILL NOT Make High Income as Dooozzz dA Ballers.
That means that "Dooozzz dA Ballers" is in the top 76 of all income earners in "dA World". Another demonstrably fake factoid.

Go learn some math.

(Oh, and BTW, I have visited China.)

Well done, Mark. That's fantastic news. I wish you "sterkte"* in the weeks and months ahead.

As a long-time lurker and occasional contributor to these forums, I've spent a fair bit of time reading some of your more ... er ... colourful posts. :) You've never abused or even argued with me, so I have nothing to forgive. Others, I am sure, probably do - and I hope and trust that they will.

* Literally translated as "strength", sterkte is an Afrikaans word used to wish someone the strength to persevere.

Oh good grief.

I'm a white South African. South Africans know something about white nationalism, bigotry, persecution and racism; it is after all only 23 years since the fascist, racist National Party was still ruling my country. I lived through the last 31 years of that regime's rule. Let me be clear: Nazism, neo-Nazism, white nationalism, antisemitism, fascism - call it what you will, they usually go together - is evil. Those who oppose it should be lauded, applauded and supported. Those who are ambivalent, who create fictional smokescreens to enable them to claim that those opposing the fascists just as bad or worse, are themselves just as bad or worse.

So, yeah. Oh good grief.
