Put this in your cc_config in the options part and exit and restart BOINC...

It might be a debt issue...

Hiya John.....
But, NOT.
I only run Seti, so I have no debt to fill on any other project.

But debt will still build...can't hurt, ya know....

'ere's lookin' at you, kid....

Mark...feel your pain...some intelligent person hit a pole 2 nights ago in the snow...came to work and the work pharm was down, electricity went out about 7:30 PM for 40 minutes...restarted the pharm and my Q9450 HD was making an awful racket and wouldn't boot....let it spin up and warm up (it was about 50F in the back of the shop) and it came back alive...

If it happens again I am going to paperweight it and install x64 on that rig...

Backup anything you wanna save NOW...LOL.

I need to learn about RAID setups.
How many drives do I need to retain all data if one dies?

Do they all need to be identical drives?

Can I convert a current single drive setup (as in my daily driver) to a RAID config without reloading everything?

As the Frozen Nehi's HD apparently is a brick, I'll probably try to get it going this weekend from scratch with the new spare I have....
But I should look into RAID going forward.

It's a cruncher...nothing worth saving there...

On behalf of The Knights Who Say Ni!, I hereby enter a bid of US $1826.25 (5 dollars a day for 365.25 days).

I'm not a member of any team, but Simon Zadra is a KWSN member and the Lunatics web site runs in their domain and is maintained by team members. I'm grateful.
                                                              Joe

Thanks, Joe...

I will add the $173.75 to this bid to make it an even $2000 for the KWSN.
9) Message boards : Cafe SETI : What happened to the first SETI signal? (Message 967903)
Posted 3 Feb 2010 by Profile [KWSN]John Galt 007
Post:
I found a rather old documentary talking about the first signal ever catched by the SETI program, wich has a story very similar to what seen in the movie "CONTACT".

This signal was found coming from gliese 1116 in 1997 by signal technician Don Merrick, later on it was decodified and it was found out it was a sort of a technical drawing of a complex machine, the drawing was aired on TV on May 25th, 1999.
I've seen on this documentary the names of the people working on the project: Ben Klatsky, Jane Lascelles and others like Rosemary Gallo from NASA.

What I find rather odd is that i can't find ANY information about this fact on the internet or about the people involved, nothing at all.
All I've got is just that tv documentary. Anyone from SETI can give further information about this?

Found some info about it here: http://rapid.org/board/showthread.php?p=339615

As I have said before, it must seem very mundane to you, but is very interesting to us out here.

Just don't send any results from that 'fake data generator' to us, eh?

But why not?? You might get some of them elusive "1 million credits for 10 seconds of work" workunits...:-)

I wonder if AMD is going to have anything to compete with this. Since they already have ATI and now dominate powerwise the GPU market.

Just think how many more top cards they would sell if they helped the Lunatics get their cards working on Seti. I would have bought 2 already.

They don't need to...just look at what Collatz and MilkyWay have done for ATI sales....

Some (most that Ive read) is not good publicity but it IS publicity.

#2. Limit accounts to a dozen active devices until a signed well worded hold-harmless release is received. Why? If Berkeley gets named in a lawsuit seeking damages (and using this case as an example, the lawyers for both the school district & Nez himself have probably considering it), then regardless of outcome, S@H would likely get shuttered as a nuisance magnet.
<snip>

And what about someone like me? I have 14 PCs that I currently run...6 at work and 8 at home...and my hosts list at BOINCStats lists 34 hosts...will I need "a signed well worded hold-harmless release"??

If you read the rules, it states to only run it on PCs you are authorized to do so...simple and plain English...if you don't have permission, don't do it. I guess I still beleive in the honor system...and BOINC is a test of that system...

whats bad for Seti is that they demonize seti as much as the actual perpetrator. Perhaps a call from the seti/BOINC staff to the news sources telling them their rules that were clearly not followed.

You might want to head to your local Animal shelter for a visit. I suggest taking a large bag of kibble to donate. Heck you might even find a new friend there. Certainly won't replace what you lost but another friend that'll keep you company

I have updated to the same version that Leopaldo is using, but he has one change on his that is not in the source.

I wonder if the running timer might affect it a little bit, I asked him how it was done and will implement it.

Of course I cannot check Geek@Play's machines anymore as he has them hidden.

I can get almost through #6 of Marks computers before the script locks up on my computer.

I did run through all 12 of John Galt OO7's machines with no problems.

I imagine that is because I haven't gotten any work since 10/26...ran down that cache after I hit 10 mil...less results to process...
