Posted 28 Dec 2013 by RottenMutt Post: it even ignored my computing preference, i had don't exceed 87.5 % of the processors; and it went ahead and used them all. i've suspended the work units until the behavior stopped, and am resuming a few every hour or so. |

Posted 27 Dec 2013 by RottenMutt Post: my guess it is a bonic issue, nothing wrong with the drivers. but don't worry as there are no opencl apps for nvidia cards i believe. I was thinking cuda, guess not... so why can't i get any work for intel 4600 graphics on a 4770k chip? |

I put my hand out and for the first time i didn't get hand full of crap:D How do you specify if you only want astropulse on the gpu's? I could edit out the MB apps from the app_info.xml file. then i should only request astopulse for the gpu's... |

Yes, if you put 1 for gpu_usage you will run one, .5 will run two, and .33 will run three and so on. If you put 1 for cpu_usage it will spar a cpu to run the astro gpu app. Just like someone is doing manually with his compute preferences, and then when astropulse is done his cpu cores he reserved sit idle... Pay attention to the section names... edit any "bold" forum "/b" text if it appears. |

Posted 24 Dec 2013 by RottenMutt Post: ....... create an app_config.xml file in your C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu directory like this: <app_config> <app> <name>setiathome_v7</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>setiathome_enhanced</name> <max_concurrent>6</max_concurrent> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> <max_concurrent>6</max_concurrent> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>.50</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config> Then you will not have use computing preferences. the app_config.xml file overrides the settings in app_info.xml so when you upgrade lunatic's apps you don't need to edit this stuff all over again, and it is smaller. |

Problem with two dual AMD system ignoring config files
(Message 1445671)
Posted 22 Nov 2013 by RottenMutt Post: Help. I got two dual socket amd systems and boinc is ignoring the config files. both systems have two nvidia gpu's (Two GTX 560 Ti in one and GTX 480 and 470 the other). The one with mixed gpu's is only utilizing one gpu and using all cpus even thou the app_config says two gpu units should utilize a whole cpu. the other is using all cpu's like the other. cc_config.xml <cc_config> app_config.xml <app_config> |

Posted 11 Jun 2013 by RottenMutt Post: Yes, I have been since it started (refer my thread re Impact). The numbers tell it all. The end effect of the New Credit system is to deliver you a daily credit that is circa 45% of v6 daily credit. I agree, but even crunch astropulse on the cpu and gpu it is what is predicted from looking at "host total" graphs. |

I'm currently top 20 credit, at least you guys will have to work twice as hard to catch me:P has anyone looked at their total credit graph, it really tells the story!!! mine says my RAC should be half, yes half. |
