Ah, I see now what I need to do. now for 4 tasks running at once. In other projects, only changing the <count>1</count> part is needed, not anything else. So I am not sure why this app would be different really.

looking at http://lunatics.kwsn.net/downloads/Lunatics_ReadMe.txt again, it shows nothing on command line options other than to help increase or reduce UI lag. Only mention of running multiple WUs per card was in the NVidia section, and that is what I did, change the <count>1</count> variable.

I am finding that when I set <type>ATI</type> <count>0.25</count>, its not running 4 tasks at once, just one still, but the other 3 sit idle, with the process time incrementing as if it was running (resulting in a time that 2, 3, or 4x longer than it should be). On the plus side, the GPU is getting used more as its not idle waiting for more tasks to download. Another strange thing is often I will see 2 tasks on "device 0" running at once, and non on "device 1", yet when I look at my GPU load, its showing as though one tack is running on each GPU.

I cannot determine by looking at the list of tasks in my account, which ran on the 6970, and which ran on the 7970.

on the plus side, so far none have been marked as invalid yet.

I am using BOINC 7.0.11 x64 on windows 8 x64.

well, so far its running on both the 6970 and 7970 (same system). Im a bit disappointed by the GPU load though on the 7970

GPU1 is the 7970, GPU2 is the 6970. They are placed with 2u spacing between them for better ventilation, however this means they are sharing the same 16x PCI-e channel (running at 8x 2.0 each)

Any chance on getting the ATI 7970 able to crunch SETI? from what I am reading, the app has issues with 11.10 and 11.11, so I am presuming that 11.12 and 12.1 are also affected. Is this true?

there should be an option in the client to auto update to the latest official update or not, just like there is options to autoupdate most other applications and OSs.

We have found that some change lately resulted in the need to restart the BOINC client to pick up a new IP, and in some cases, even a reboot of the system was necessary.

IBM just donated several IntelliStation Z Pro (dual xeon) workstations to the place I work for, which is a non profit educational facility. Total cost for all comps was well over $100k. You may have luck with asking them, for their facial year just started.

SETI.USA was formed to consolidate people in the USA onto a single team with the goal of becoming the number 1 team in the world. The United States has nearly THREE times as many users and nearly FIVE times more credit than any other country. However, as there are so many people in different USA teams and many without any team affiliation, other counties appear to be doing better.

SETI.USA has been in existence for just a little over a year and a half and we have already become the most productive team in BOINC and currently hold the #5 position in the world for total credit. We are the only team to ever reach a RAC of 800,000 for combined projects and currently have a goal of 850,000 by Thanksgiving. We are well on our way to accomplishing our goal but we need your help. The USA has always been known for rising up and overcoming challenges like this.

We would like to extend an invitation for YOU to join us in our quest. If you are interested or would just like to check us out, please feel free to come by our message board at http://www.setiusa.net/phpBB2/. We would be most happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you decide to join us just click this link http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=115396 and then click the “Join Team” button.

The USA has always been known for rising up and overcoming challenges like this. Join with us!

did you wate the 10min 5 sec it mentions on the last line b4 trying to reinstall again? This is normal for Boinc. The first connection it download settings (how much of the resorces on your comp to use, what time of day to run, ect ) and SETI tells the client to wate 10 min b4 reconnection to the SETI server again. On the second connection, you will download the files and begin crunching.
