There's an old saying here in the Wild West: "You'd bitch if you were hung with a new Rope".

Eye you posted this 4 times, what's your point, are you having problems with meds?

Hmm. I wonder if I'm starting to recover. I don't feel as bad as I did 24 or 6 hours ago.

I suspect I'll get into my second bottle of cough gunk before I'm done, though.

Maybe you are just getting used to it.

Trump, but not unconditionally. If he is true to his word and works for all the people to bring them together in peace and prosperity. If he is not true to his word I will be as critical as anyone. A man is his word.

Eye that is true and Trump's record of not honoring his business contracts is well documented. so far the man has not shown integrity. This is his chance to redeem himself. I hope he does but I am skeptical.

. If health care can be made to work without a single payer system, then I wouldn't mind a bit, but there are no examples to follow.

Stev, that is a very inconvenient fact in today's political environment.

I personally had to pay a $2500 deductible that took almost 3 years when my wife broke her wrist.
I work a good job, but don't have $2500 sitting around. Now, my wife was put on two days a week, and lost her insurance, vacation, holiday pay. I put her on my plan, but $140 a week gets us a $5000 deductible. The US is 27'th world wide in health care. France is #1. I don't understand why we don't look at countries that have success, and keep defending being in 27'th place as the right way to go.

We are also 29'th in education. It seems to me that as AI and automation continue to take hold, a lack of education will cripple us.

This is what is happening to jobs. What happens when this matures?

To those crunchers who run out of work during the outrage I have a suggestion. Use E@H as your back up project, after all Seti owes them a lot of love, after all they have been so generous to allow us to run Nebula on their super computer.

That's probably as much as you can do besides hailing Thor, which is never a bad idea.

Well, look at this States Rights. A red state of South Dakota wants to enforce its laws in other states.

That would have very profound effects.
It would be an administrative nightmare for the companies.
It would help local business.
Many consumer choices could go away.
This will be an interesting one to follow.

Almost 13.47" for the month so far. The drought is just about over, if this keeps up it will be.

Grant it will take years if ever to refill the aquifers in California.

That one I know and if ever using more than we get is the problem.

This will help filling the dams a lot but the next thing is the fire season this summer. The under growth will be heavy.

Grant you seem to understand the problem, it is too bad the state is unwilling to do something about it as is mine.

@ betreger: diminishing marginal utility does not apply to most all of this.

As you said, D.M.U. is in the realm of microeconomics (the study of individual persons, individual firms, and individual markets). However, 'trickle-down' is definitely not totally (or even mostly) in the realm of microeconomics. It is concerned with the flow of wealth through the economy, between individual persons, between individual firms, and between individual markets. Therefore, it is most properly in the realm of macroeconomics (the study of large-scale or general factors in the economy), and D.M.U. does NOT apply

Major, I disagree how an individual behaves with his wealth is most definitely a micro economics problem. How an individual company behaves is also part of micro. Systemic behavior is a concern of macro, such as the effect of trickle down which has been shown to have a much lower multiplier effect than other forms of stimulus due to the diminishing marginal utility of money.

But I'm not gonna buy an ASIC just for that

That's not gonna happen, CPU's and GPU's just are not efficient enough.
