21) Message boards : Number crunching : Credit per Core? (Message 1572647)

I am running the Lunatics 0.42 right now so there isn't much I can do there! Rather than run extra WU's on my GPU, I may just add another GPU in as I have the slot for it. I am running all 8 cores on my system right now with very little slow down. But, does higher credit come from faster turnaound?

How, is it possible to increase your credit per core? I am currently receiving around 60 to 100 on average per core which to me seems a little low! Is it possible to increase this? Also is it possible to run more than 1 work unit on a GPU if so how do I do this?

Thanks, I just want the team to get the credit they deserve! Looking at most of the sites there, a lot seem to no longer exist! Well, we are here for the long haul :)

Don't forget we are forever recruiting :)

Hello Byron! Are you sure that email address is correct as Windows live mail does not like it!

Liverpool Seti Web are looking for new team members to help crunch data for SETI@Home. Even though we are listed as a local team, anyone from around the world can join us and help the SETI@Home cause. We have a Facebook page as well as a small developing website. If you want to join a small friendly team and you also enjoy astronomy in general, come and join us.

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how we would go about getting our website listed on the SETI@Home websites page? Also there are a lot of outdated links there that should be tidied.

As a matter of interest I was looking through some other SETI@Home teams CPU breakdown to see what is being used to process work units and found a CPU which only has 2 cores being repoted to having 21 cores! Not sure how this is possible. In the following image check the second unit listed.http://boincstats.com/en/stats/0/host/breakdown/cpu/113799

Now the CPU specs. http://ark.intel.com/products/41495/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E7600-3M-Cache-3_06-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB. Anyone got any ideas on this?

V7 should have downloaded automatically in the background and updated itself! Mine certainly did. Have you checked in the "About BOINC Manager" in the help menu? I had similar issues in the past and all I could do was to abort all current tasks and reinstall BOINC after a full restart.

it would be nice if there was a list readily available for Cuda problems and solutions to hand Richard. Will there be a time when one is available or is this asking too much?

Again, the weekend is a tricky time to organise that, but it sounds like a good idea. I'll see if I can round up the usual suspects on Monday. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think it would save you guys a hell of a lot of time answering questions like this :)

I have it enabled and have found it using 0.04 CPU and 1 GPU. Which has not changed from previous. I also have team members who are asking if there is an installation guide available.

Thanks guys that's exactly what I thought. I am now downloading the 0.41 update and hopefully get V7 working fully. One question before I install the New 0.41 which Nvidia option do you think I should set mine to as I am running a GT640 which is a Kepler chipset?

before I ask, I have seen a number of posts covering app_info.xml, but none of them seem to answer why it's missing from the the installation. On my event log I get the error message "07/06/2013 13:21:31 | SETI@home | Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home v7." Could anyone answer for me how to correct this and answer, why it's missing in the first place.

Thanks
