Correct Lunatic's Settings for AMD HD5450
(Message 1204521)
Posted 438 days ago by Peter Cook
The HD5450 is not running on mine but my daughters! The Drivers I am running are the automatic updates selected for the card! I get no messages at all so I guess it's just the incorrect install settings plus OpenCL is not active. The driver version is atiumdag 8.930.0.0 / win7 |

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I now have a multitude of GPU work units finally!!! I downgraded to 285 Nvidia driver just to be safe! I am still using the DVI as my monitor has never been set to use suspend so that's not a problem. I can now do more work units thanks to you. Well done sir! |

Ok, I have just made the mistake of letting Nvidia update my driver automatically lol I will search out the other drivers manually, I also think you may have hit the nail on the head as I have been running my monitor through DVI!! I will let you know what happens when I go back to VGA!! Regards |

Thanks Claggy! I am now updating the Nvidia driver and I have already downloaded the new Lunatics app. I have the setting to use the NVidia GPU already set, so hopefully this will cure the problem! otherwise I'll be back :) Oh do you recommend also downloading the Astropulse for windows app? There has been no request to assign work and when I installed the Lunatics app I selected the enable GPU access also where would I assign the work? I will download the new Lunatics and try that to see if it cures it! Also how do I get to assign an entry on the application page as you suggest Claggy? Sorry still a newbie at this even though I have been with SETI@home since 1999. :) Also which version of the Astropulse app should I get? Also which Multibeam setting do you recommend for my system? |

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem! I have an 512mb Nvidia 9600GT OC graphics card which is CUDA rated and has previously done some crunching but now I do not seem to be getting any data processed by the GPU. I have checked my SETI@Home settings and they are all set to use the GPU all the time. I have also been through the NVidia control panel and enabled access for BOINC in every guise to have access to CUDA. I am still getting no data processed. I have re-installed BOINC in case of any errors. I am having no problems with the graphics card in any way and all games tested on it work to the highest detail I can without any slowdown or crashing. Any ideas as I am close to binning the card for a new one! Incidentally my second PC that also runs SETI@Home has just died and gone to heaven and that was a lowly 512mb 8400GT which did use it's graphics processor!! I am getting pretty annoyed now please help! |

Very cool. One mil is a fun milestone. Congrats guys! I totally agree as you see yourself hovering around it but them bam! it's there lol I am not sure as to what to set the next target at as I don't want to underestimate or overestimate due to work unit availability. Perhaps I'll just settle for the 2 Millionth. |

Just wanted to share with you all that our group has finally reached it's 1 Millionth Cobblestone for the SETI@Home project. I know it's not a lot compared to a lot of groups but as we have only this last six months put in the computer time to effectively help this project in the way it deserves and with a good team group behind us I feel we can go lot further than previous. Thanks to all our team members for supporting the project :) Just wanted to share with you all {group hug} |

Server Status Widget?

I was wondering if there is or if there is anyone who could create a server status widget for VBulletin. This useful tool would be great for team websites. Does anyone know if one already exists? |

Doesn't the seti institute require ~ $20 million per year? SETI@home does more with less than any other DC project out there, I am very proud to be a part of such a worthy project as this. Aye they do thats where their corporate sponsors come in, where as SETI@Home is where us humble homeies come in :) With projects such as these large amounts of donations are always required and people such as ourselves would always do our best to support in anyway we can! |

I think SETI@Home will have no problems with funding from here on in as there are so many supporters that we would not let it fail! The SETI Institute are having some funding problems, but they run in a different manner. Whatever their fate I feel that members of SETI@Home should also subscribe to the Institute as they are also very factual in other things other than SETI itself and as such a good source of knowledge for younger people wishing to get into the sciences. |

OK guys and gals, what is the best optimiser for the current version of SETI@Home. I am looking to help increase my output without false positives and I would like some advice on what you consider to be the best and easiest to use. I was considering using the optimisers from the Lunatics website. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php Anyway let me know what you think :) |
