What I would like to ask is! Will we still be able to support the product with donations and if required equipment?

Just a note: I have noticed that the team pages are not parsing any links (url's). Basically they sit there and do not open at all even though the link code is correct. Just thought I would let you know!

I originally had a similar issue with my FX8350, managed to get it stable then 4 months later my motherboard exploded! I am now running my CPU with water cooling and using only 4 cores at 50% of the CPU's at 90% of the time! I Process with 3 direct cores and one other is in use to support my graphics card and it is fully stable, no need for throttle or the like. I monitor my cores using Core Temp, which varies between 28 degrees and up to 66 degrees depending upon usage and what type of work unit is being worked upon.

I am also limiting my usage of the processors through app_info and app_config manipulation. I hope that helps a little.

I just upgraded the driver to the newest version and so far looks ok! If there are any issue's I will go back to that one!

Thanks :)

Hi all

Ever since the Astropulse database rebuild, I have had no downloads until this week and now I an getting a consistent error message "Task postponed: CL file build failure" - "Opencl_nvidia_100".

Can anyone shed any light on this one for me?

Thanks in advance.
Peter

Thanks Zalster! I am now testing this card first! seems to have a small increase on the previous card, however, we shall see over a few days of crunching :)

I have never created an XML file myself Zal, but at present I have removed the GT640 to test the GTX550Ti at present I am a little low on PC memory to run both also, system slows to a crawl. but I would love to know how to do it for the future :)

Thanks

Hi Mike!

Just a quick question! How do I get two GPU's to work at the same time? I have a GTX550ti and a GT640, is it possible to get the processing at the same time!

Ok processing seems to have settled at around 7.8k and to be honest I thought I would have had more growth by now! Although I have nearly 80 units pending credit!

Another question while I am thinking about it! with the GPU it reports using 0.04 CPU and 0.333 GPU! is it possible to increase the CPU allocation to processing the GPU units?

With actual settings the GPU will get as much CPU resources as needed.

So you physically cannot increase the amount of allocation? shame, it would have been good to be able to have the option! Shame that BOINC doesn't have the option to increase WU's via the menu system rather than hacking files!

I had a feeling you were working with Lunatics :) As for the credit it has risen 200 points above yesterday, but I am wondering if I am pushing the graphics card a little hard by going with 3 wu's.

I have added the AP command line into the file suggested, Obviously you have been using these optimisations for a long time and know your stuff! I hope this all helps :)

Overnight I have seen an increase in performance, so again, I will monitor the settings! At present I am running 65% of the processors 100% of the time, with 3 standard WU's on the GPU or 2 AP's on the GPU. I have noticed that if there is 1 AP running it will still only allocate 1 WU to the other slot. Which isn't much of a problem for me.

Again thank you for your support!

So use that exact line in your example!

When you read the AstroPulse_OpenCL_NV_ReadMe.txt you will notice there are some comand line options.
You can use them via ap_cmdline_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV.txt.

Example

-unroll 4 -ffa_block 6144 -ffa_block_fetch 1536 -tune 1 64 8 1 -use_sleep.

Maybe unroll 6 is possible but this requires testing.
