Is it normal that GPU work comes in dribs and drabs?

I've got two home computers with GPU's in them, but they only seem to get GPU work on and off. Is that normal? When I first started using my GPU's in October/November I was crunching around 20,000 to 30,000 credits a day. But since then I've hardly had any GPU work and my credits have died down to 5,000 to 6,000 a day. Because I've only just started doing GPU work, I'm not sure if there is a problem, or this is normal for GPU crunching. |

Cannot report completed tasks

Same here, I have 20 completed tasks sitting around not uploading. Is there somewhere I can go to see an up to date report on these sorts of bugs? I've seen server status page which tells me whats up in terms of servers ect... But at the same time, it doesn't tell me if theres some wider issue here. A server which is up, isn't there same thing as a server which isn't doing its job correctly. |

ATI And Nvida GPU's in same machine

This weekend I upgraded my ATI 5850 GPU to an NVIDA 660ti. I basically uninstalled the ATI drivers, powered off, exchanged the cards and booted back up to install the Nvidia driver. Having then set it up for crunching on SETI, and seeing the phenominal results I thought I'd try readding the ATI card rather than using it elsewhere or selling it. I have now both cards in the machine. Windows seems happy enough to have both cards running side by side and so does BOINC. BOINC is even trying to download work for it. It never however manages to obtain any, I'm still only seeing the NVIDIA card and the 4 cores of my CPU working on tasks. I've added the 'USE ALL GPU's' setting to my cc_config file and rebooted, but this has had no effect. Has anyone ever mixed cards in this way and got a positive result? I'm not sure what to try next, so any suggestions would be appreciated. |

the 5850 is a great crunching card. the only problem is that it only runs the stock AP WU's . If and when Lunatics has its Opt apps back and available then you can run the ATI on MB tasks Excellent, I'll definitely keep the card then, I was thinking about ebaying it. Could you clarify what you mean by 'lunatics' and 'MB tasks' for me, I'm not sure what you mean (sorry). Also, I was just looking at your stats page and noticed your high average credits on your machines, is this down to crunching with GPUs? Will I be seeing something similar in a few days or are you doing something a bit special? I've been a gamer for years, I cant believe this is the first time I've thought to get my GPU involved. What a wasted opportunity. |

Thank you, I'd not seen that page before. The settings were as follows: Use NVIDIA GPU = YES If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications = NO. I have now changed the second item to YES. So I guess I'll wait and see if it does the trick. Thank you very much for your help. I tried to help myself, but after a good hour or so Googling I couldn't determine what was going wrong. Seriously, thank you! |

I dont see anything in preferences that would cause this. The only reference I see concerning the GPU is to 'USE GPU WHILE COMPUTER IS IN USE' and I have this on. I'm using BOINC 7.0.28 x64. And I've only just installed SETI@HOME so I guess thats the latest version. Can anyone help? Part of the reason I bought a new Nvidia gfx card (also using the latest drivers) was for this. Thankyou, looked at my stats on the Berkeley website and made a note of my credit there. Looking at it today indicates that there have been updates, so it does look like they are getting through (I normally only check BOINCSTATS). Thanks also for the link, I appears all I have to do is wait and BOINCSTATS will sort itself out. It doesn't say how long this might take though. :( |

I've seen that there are upload problems, but I seem to have uploaded nothing for weeks. My 2 home PC's have been crunching away merily, but no results seem to be getting to the server. I did indeed, including a reboot, but it still failed to connect. I've just connected to a raw internet connection and it still didn't connect. I have therefore uninstalled it, downloaded a new copy of the client and done a reinstall. Bingo! It now connects and seems to be doing its thing. Ahh its was in the wrong place. I've moved it over, but its still not able to connect. Any other ideas? It'd be a waste not to be able to use the processor in this PC. No, but I only tried that on the off-chance that it would connect, just to eliminate Seti@Home as the problem. Looks like its BOINC in general, not just SETI. |

I'm seeing this error when I try and connect with SETI@Home:- 'The Project is temporarily unavailable' > 'Please try again later'. Its been like this all week so I'm guessing its my setup as its a new installation behind a proxy. Last time this happened I added a cc_config.xml to the BOINC install folder and was away. Its not worked this time. I've triple checked the proxy server settings (both HTTP and SOCKS) and am 100% sure these are correct, but still no connection. Can anyone advise as I'm out of ideas? I hadn't realised you could use the website to effect changes in the application. I'll give it a try.
You know when someone points something out you wonder how something so obvious could have passed you by... I've just had one of those moments lol! Many thanks for posting and the advice. No one can...Check the server status @ Seti homepage and you`ll see the reason why :) I'm new to BOINC, could you describe how to download more than one WU at a time please. |
