Had some rain overnight, but most of it went through Springfield and Champaign.

Once the lawn dries off, I should go out and mow it.

What is this lawn that you speak of?

Double that Chris and you'll have what I've been running for a few years now.

Cheers.

I was running 12GB for a while now, but recently upgraded to 24GB. Of course Win7 Home will only address 16GB.

He is getting this on his work.

ERROR: OpenCL kernel/call 'Enqueueing kernel:PC_find_spike32_kernel_cl' call failed (-54) in file ..\analyzeFuncs.cpp near line 3838.

Did you change drivers when you reinstalled Windows?

Unfortunately today having found out that Media Center is being removed I may have to keep at least one PC on Win 7 as no other program works for my USB TV stick, Just tried some others and they are either complicated to set up or for some reason fail to see all the TV channels, Media Center just works. Oh well.

I will be doing the same as you, I use my secondary PC as a DVR currently.

An updated picture of my second machine. These MSI's run warm, appx. 60C at 80% fan speed working two units at a time. I am going to leave off the third card and save that money towards a third rig. I've noticed my 750TIs run pretty well compared to the 960s, I was hoping to see a slighty higher performance margin between the two cards. Anyone have experience running each type of these cards?

The Twin Frozr version runs cool.

So I got the 960s up and running, what is a safe temp? I've seen 69C on auto on a 90% load at stock fan settings. Turning the fans up to 75% I get around 56C, but they are noisy little things, kinda like a ringing sound. Could I get by with a constant 60 to 65C temp 24/7 or do I need to keep it under 60? thanks.

Yours are running warmer than mine, I was managing 43-45C crunching 3 at a time.

From my limited experience with Win10TP so far, I would add the recommendation that anyone considering upgrading once release comes around, of an old/existing host that is still using mechanical drives as the main system drive, take the opportunity to use a good SSD for the WIN10 OS/Boot drive. That's just based on the lack of installation/upgrade pain, and awesome boot times I'm seeing.

Yep, I can restart my computer in about 30 seconds or so with my 90 GB SSD.

All my apps and data are stored on the 3 TB internal drive.

A quick note-
Observe the spec on the fans with all these vendors.

I will vouch that EVGA uses Ball Bearings(double in fact) not Sleeve Bearings -
These are quiet as a church mouse. Only noise I've heard from my GTX 960 SC (single fan version) was when I turned up fan to 70% for a minute- and that was just air.

I've had good luck(and effective cooling to <60C-my target) with a 30% manual setting.
This holds up under high clocks 540 base and 3505 mem - yielding 1404MHz base and 1752MHz mem clocks as reported by GPU Z with 4x CUDAs running

40% will give 1520 rpms and 53C

Ambient room temp and air circulation there and in your Case, guide these adjustments

I am crunching 3 WU's and my temps are sticking around 48C on the 960 while the 760 is up around 70C.

Nice looking card, is there a benefit to having 4gigs vs 2gigs for Seti WUs?

I also like this card that was recommended by woohoo.

Is this MSI card louder then the ASUS STRIX and the MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G?
I see the benefits of the blower style fan, and wondered if the other two cards suggested would generate less noise with acceptable temps?

I mostly got the 4GB card as I also game on this computer and Skyrim was getting cramped in 2GB.
