What's with the age gap around here?
(Message 1225346)
Posted 385 days ago by Dr. C.E.T.I.
. . . was simply wondering - i had a studio in an Industrial area of Anaheim - which is supposed to be in Orange County - [tilt-up walled buildings - didn't fare too well in the quake - though was actually LA County] and was pretty close to Uptown Whittier - on Greenleaf - where i had another studio in an old brick construction that got destroyed as well . . . i remember running out of the tilt-up studio - with an 80 lux flash - and saw a 'slight' ravine forming along the AMTRAK rails - that's when i knew the quake was pretty bad . . . @ Carlos - recall me back then, in the Old Historic Town of Whittier - i was on Greenleaf ??? > and back on to the current topic: i believe they're making a law in New York City - that makes it so you can't text while walking about - based on all the deaths in the city while idiots are texting while walking on the streets . . . ;)) |

'ello my friend - and indeed the Facebook connect is actually working a 'positive' for the Project . . . Hello Richard, I hope things well, It's fantastic being at SETI again, and the science enthusiasts still SETI interested. SETI is a credit for public acknowledgement of U.F.O and alien phenomena and hopefully many others will see the value of being a member of SETI public conversations. |

no, though i do 'ave some vacuum tubes [old & new - used in certain systems i own] here's a close relative to my boards i referred to: This Northstar 16K RAM board has four rows by eight columns of 4,096-bit dynamic MOS memory chips delivering a total of 16,384 bytes. The symbol for kilobytes in 1978 was K and not the familiar KB used today btw: something i've been researchin' . . . The Earliest Analog Computer - Circa 150 BCE – 100 BCE - the Antikythera Mechanism was discovered off Antikythera, Greece in 1901 Copyright/credit Jo Marchant, Nature/Copyright of the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project A group of scientists from the U.K. and Greece led by Mike Edmunds, an astronomer from the University of Cardiff, has unlocked a code more ancient and mysterious than those found in Foucault's Pendulum or The Da Vinci Code. The team has deciphered the Antikythera Mechanism, an ancient computer named for the Greek island where it was discovered. |

A Reader's Guide to Understanding Contemporary Readership in Newspaper Journalism . . . 1. The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country. 2. The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country. 3. The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the country, and who are very good at crossword puzzles. 4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country but don't really understand The New York Times. They do, however, like their statistics shown in pie charts. 5. The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could find the time -- and if they didn't have to leave Southern California to do it. 6. The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country and did a poor job of it, thank you very much. 7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's running the country and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on the train. 8. The New York Post is read by people who don't care who is running the country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while intoxicated. 9. The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country, but need the baseball scores. 10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure if there is a country or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all that they stand for. There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are handicapped, minority, feminist, atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided of course, that they are not Republicans. 11. The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery store. 12. The Key West Citizen is read by people who recently caught a fish and need something to wrap it in. 13. The Laguna Beach Independent is read by people who believe they like and want to keep things the way they think it used to be, but aren't sure exactly when that might have been. |
