We still have a number of people who have not replied to our emails. We therefore have space for one or two others if they would care to contact us.

what conference?

This thread was posted in Cafe Seti/Number Crunching/Team Recruitment and most of the other message boards and a number forums/message board projects. It was put as a `sticky` on 1st October in order for people to see it when they arrived on the board and has been viewed in Cafe Seti alone nearly 1,500 times:

Good question!

See above.

It has been there for the best part of 2 months.

Emails went out (and in some cases twice) to all those that registered on our registration page.

The conference is to take place on Monday 18th December commencing at 12:00 PST (20:00 GMT).

Tiare, if you would care to contact me we can discuss it.

Mike

Emails have gone out to those people who registered for the online conference panel.
At this moment in time, the conference will take place on Monday 18th December
We are somewhat disappointed that a number of people have not responded to us.
So far we have had confirmation from people in:

Mexico
Guam
USA
Portugal
Pakistan
UK

If those people who have not replied would like to do so, there are still places to be decided.

We now have a list of dates when David, Matt, Rom and Eric are available and are in the process of organising the most suitable date for all concerned. There is still the opportunity to register and be in with your chance to ask your questions. We shall shortly be closing the registration page and the process of selecting those to sit on the conference will commence. All registrants will be contacted very shortly in order to confirm that they still wish to take part.

one of 6 regional members, is a lotto ticket, it is not a chance to ask, it's a gamble to start with,

Indeed, but at least somebody will be in with the opportunity to put the questions.

I think it is fairly safe to say that you will not get a reply in here - as you know, they rarely do. Not perhaps because they would not necessarily like to, but they do perhaps have more to do than spend all day trolling through all the posts looking for some to answer. No disrespect, but they probably have more than enough to do running their projects.

However, they will be available to answers questions directly. At least you will have an answer one way or the other directly from the horses mouth so to speak.

Following the discovery that a Team had been formed on various other projects that we were not crunching on with a Team name exceedingly closely similar to ours, it was also discovered that the "founder" had also chosen to give themselves the name Lookers - one I have had since 1999.
So:
a: remember, that somebody can use your name as founder on another project - and there is nothing you can do about it.
b: and why would anybody not related to my Team wish to go around forming a Team on as many projects as they could with a name exceedingly close to ours with a founder called Lookers with no members, no credit and no RAC ? I`ll let you decide.

Whilst quite a few of you have some pretty strong views on the subject of adverts and/or funding - nobody seems to want to be in a position to ask the people directly.

Odd really.

It would seem you do not want to know the answers - and fighting amongst youselves will not get you them.

For those of you who have downloaded our very interesting and informative interview with David Anderson and Eric Korpela will know that there is to be a fund raising campaign in the near future.

You could have your chance, but if you do not register you will not. Choice is yours - simple really.

Well, you have the opportunity to ask the people running the projects what they think of this matter, whether it can or cannot be done for legal or other reasons (charitable status etc) - and you have the opportunity of doing it live & online. You also have the opportunity to put forward further ideas for funding. Just go and get registered for the panel with David Anderson, Eric Korpela, Matt Lebofsky and Rom Walton. I am sure that SAH and the other non-government funded projects would be delighted with fresh ideas for revenue.

Rather than fight over it in here and fall out with each other, ask them directly - just register.

Simple really. :-)

The current state of those registered seems to indicate that those of you from the South Americas and Far East are a little slow in coming forward. We are looking for a truly global participation in this session, and I am sure you have just as many questions as everybody else.
You will be talking directly to the people who are on the inside and, as our interview has shown, there is a lot of information to be had if you ask the right questions.
So, don`t be shy, get yourself registered
