The ONLY frustrating part for me is seeing all you newbies, within the last 5 - 10 years, that have 3, 4, 5 TIMES as many work units done than I do :-(
My PC is on 24/7, unless it freezes or crashes during the night, and I have an 8 core AMD, 6 cores are dedicated to SETI, and I run Nvidia CUDDA. Just installed SETI on my 2 PC's at work too :-D

I work in Data Storage, keep trying to get my company to donate one of our smaller systems, but at 1.2 million each, they are a bit leery. I'll keep working on it, maybe one of these days.

I think that most of us just use our own PC's and not our work or business PC's. If you have access and allowed then good for you but no good being frustrated because you don't.

Crunch on and remember that

So is this the thread that will tell me when Linux (x-86_64) CUDA V7 Optimised apps will be done. Could not see anything on the Lunatics site for CUDA on Linux for the new version ?

Hope someone is working on it somewhere.

This post http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=71728&postid=1372741#1372741 is based on Windows machines, I presume as there are no standard Linux GPU apps so you will need to download and change all the app_info.xml I believe ??

They errored out when I took the app_info file out of the folder to download the seti_enhanced standard app. It did not work so I am sticking with the optimised astropulse app and another project. I have started working on new Optimised astropulse work and I will check to see that they finish OK.

Maybe I can get it working when the new version comes out and I can get a app_info that works.

Thanks for the help though much appreciated.

I think I will just run the optimised application and use the CPU on another project. It is just too hard for me, I am an old fart (64) and it is getting beyond me I think.

Thanks for the help, if you could post what it is supposed to look like for Linux I could then use the CPU as well on SETI.

Thanks

I am trying to setup a Linux PC with NVIDIA GTX275 and downloaded the Optimised app and it had a app_info.xml with it.

When I run BOINC i get this error which is because I do not have the SETI@home Enhanced in the app_info.xml

27-May-13 14:23:16 | SETI@home | Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced.

I tried to modify the app_info.xml and when I started BOINC it deleted all the work and also the SETI@home Enhanced applications.

Can someone point out where I went wrong ??

Hi

Yes that is a small "i" in the AT1, I double checked the files that I downloaded.

I have the two files setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe and setigraphics_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe and I put them into my app_info but I guess I did it wrong because they all started to error out with the error

I have this app_info.xml that allows me to run the optimised apps for ATI GPU and the the astropulse CPU app. I want to add the standard CPU setiathome_enhanced tasks to it but I have tried a couple of times to add the setiathome_enhanced CPU to the app_info and they all error out.

Is there a way to run the setiathome_enhanced ATI GPU and the setiathome_enhanced CPU on the same pc ??? This is one of the computers
