Best of luck ! We'll be waiting patiently. Take all the time you need, better a good fix than a quick fix...
2) Message boards : Number crunching : WU In Progress Limit? (Message 1662311)
Posted 20 days ago by Profile S@NL Etienne Dokkum
First off : there is no way to overcome this. This limit was set by S@H a long time ago (100 tasks for the CPU and an additional 100 per GPU in your rig)

The theory behind this is the heavy duty crunchers were pounding the servers so hard they would collapse.

So you're not alone in this, everyone faces the same limits. The only workaround there is is to build a virtual machine, but this would only give you 100 more GPU tasks(and 100 more CPU of course, but that won't be a problem for anyone).

I hope I answered your question...

I don't want to accuse anyone but looking at the tasks he's probably using the rescheduler swapping all MB's to the CPU and getting more and more 100 tasks for his GPU or the other way around...

Don't know why because there has hardly been a shortage of MB work.

And that's the second system out of GPU work & still no joy with the Scheduler.

The same here as well, and if things arn't back online by tomorrow morning here my CPU's will be looking elsewhere for work too. :-(

Cheers.

Reporting is going fine now(not that there's much to report) but if things shape up like last Wednesday work will pick up in 9 hours or so.

That was weird : I just saw the forum and all they were all reset to Febr. 1st as last posts...

Seti Gremlins still hard at work.

On topic : haven't been able to report or fetch work for 5 hours now too.

My best guess here is that the problems we are encountering atm are more than just a remote reboot, so for now the back up projects should keep us happy until monday... Just keep crunching !

It took abusive retry button behavior, but now the servers were friendly and my cache is back up to 200 tasks again. No point of holding out for AP's just yet I think...

The kitties seem to have received some rather long running GPU tasks here as well...dunno if they are flying just under the radar, so to speak, to get by the threshold of don't send VLARs to nvidia GPUs, or if that server limitation has been broken.
ATI cards, if I recall, don't fare as badly with them as nvidia cards do.

My NVidia doesn't like 'em : just test ran 2 of them and they completed in 1 hour 22 minutes compared to the usual 20 min. (2 instances on 1 GTX750ti)

turn around time is less because there are less AP's to grab ? My avg time is somewhat like 0.82 days for GPU AP's

And people are gobbling up the work even faster than I thought. Only 224 AP channels left to split now.

Something is wrong. The channels disapeares without creating new work units

This morning there were 742 channels and 8 hours later there are only 160 left ??!!!

well, that's it... back to 100% MB. If the servers are so kind to throw me a couple of GPU tasks in the process

Thanks, 200 MB tasks in progress as we speak here :D

that's a great Sinterklaas(Dutch traditional holiday where gifts are given to children by a Santa Claus kind of folk hero) present !

For the first time in over 15 years I am not crunching Seti, this is causing a real panic.

relax, most of us have been out of work for at least 2 weeks now... Surely you must remember Nov-Dec 2012 when Seti was down for weeks too. Patience is all we can depend on ;-)
