or maybe a validator will find it eventually and process it normally?

I doubt it :-))

At a certain age, you're running out of patience as the end comes closer and closer...
23) Message boards : Number crunching : How about raising the limits .... (Message 1167063)

Its starting to improve, not by a lot but the shorties are getting fewer and at the rate that the AP's are going out some users caches must be filling up.

Its only the faster machines that are affected by the current limits, a lot of the slower machines or those not running 24/7 will not even be reaching the limit anyway.

I did run out of CUDA-WUs even during the really short maintenance outage yesterday (local time).

No chance at all to keep even a reasonable amount of workload in the cache, to keep them running I have to babysitting the machines.

I can download only with a proxy. OMG, router again?

I actually don't think (hope?) so - though with proxy the downloads at least sometimes come to an end. Really weirdo.

Now AP's are available again but no chance to downlad them...
Even MB downloads stuck.
I know, I am a moaner :-))
Hard to make me happy...

I also would like the limits removed. The bandwidth seems to be able to handle it and I know my machines would like it. ....

Are you actually running out of work or are you closed to?

If it becomes "normal" like it's running after the memory upgrade on the HE router I personally don't need a large cache anymore.

I'd rather would like to have AP's again. And then lets see how the cricket looks like ;-)

IMHO raising the limits should be last step taken - after all other issues are sorted out.

Ping with less than 1% loss at .13 and .16 (0% at .18 and .20)

Download speed as high as I never had before :-)

All this with NO proxy hassle...

Thanks gentlemen for the effort and the great job done!

Me again :-)

Ups are ok, but downloads aren't really working.
Pings and traceroutes show lost packets (~25%) / sometimes connection time outs.

Hi Jeff

After many weeks without being able to even connect without a proxy I could up-/download and report today WUs, though with a few hick-ups.
Location Switzerland, ISP cablecom.
Trace routes and pings were successfully too (well, almost).

Well I am able to get tasks directly from Seti today.

Me too.

I hope everyone else is too.

Who knows? Therefore:

It has been a long time since I have been able to get anything consistently.

I personally would (based on former experience) wait at least a few days before I tend to use the expression consistently ;-)

It's working now... should have been in bed, then I probably wouldn't have had even recognized the hick-up.

Okay, fresh start for this thread.

Then I still have to report the uploading issue ;-)
And well, not getting new tasks - but that's probably connected anyway.
Weird enough, scheduler updates do work (accepting tasks ready to report).

I face the same issues as Gatekeeper.
With and/or without proxy.

The increase in memory *should* solve the connectivity problems.

Well, I dislike the "should" but keep my fingers crossed ;-)

So, finally around 18:00 UTC it started downloading and atm it keeps getting better and better (around 700 WUs in total for my 3 machines).

Results upload is fine as well.

Both only via proxy though :-)

Unlucky download--actually unlucky scheduler awards. My ATI 4550 which is enabled to run either Astropulse or Multibeam has not been award a WU since September 13.

I think Claggy has suggested that this may not be luck to me specifically, but a problem more widely affecting ATI GPU work award.

Really weird, I got yesterday a few ATI-WUs via proxy (but all crunched already).
It must be some Voodoo thingy ;-)

What's going on at the moment???
...

Hi Frizz :-))

A lot...
There seems to be a DOS-attack against S@H, just to make the things worse.
But the funny thing is that I can now connect to the servers without a proxy and could upload, but still no luck with getting new work.

As mentioned many times before - patience has to be your friend.

Here's the Thread for the unlucky up- and down-loaders.
The moaners and whiners.
We're going to have to be fun :-))

I said It's necessary... here it is!
