"Dying Ember"

it's a dying ember
and if no one knows
it's still a dying ember
hidden in my heart
where no one ever goes
'cause i still remember

it's dying ember
and if no one cares
it's still a dying ember
burnin' in my soul
goes everywhere i go
will it live forever?

i could say you're the one
'cause we always had such fun
but i'd be a liar
i could wish and dream
keep my distance on the run
that makes me a flier
if i did the things
the things i should have done
then i'd be a hero
but i can't survive
on the prize i never won
that makes me a zero

it's a dying ember
and if no one knows

"Get This Train A Rollin'"

gimme time for the air flow
bring the distant light into focus
train is runnin' late for the station
tracks are bending time for the slow poke
get this train a rollin'
make some time
and we will get there someday
get this train a rollin'
a little further down the line
and the wheels go
thundering down the track
going there and back
make that whistle blow
let the people know
tomorrow is coming
day after today

compassion
is forgotten
when you cannot
feel your pain
spend forever
in the middle
watch your soul
go down the drain
in the meantime
it's the worst time
and we both
know it's true
for me
and for you too

meditation
is redundant
when you're thinking
all the time
take a coffee
have a respite
hold your own
as you unwind
it's the last time
it's the first time
and we both
know it's true
for me
and for you too

hanging on
to some misbegotten yesterday
a dream that fit the need
never quite got up to speed
hanging on
to a sleepy revelation
someone who needed room
and there was an empty room

have a couple
have a dozen
seems we never
get our fill
plan forever
then forever
isn't quite
the dizzy thrill
it's the real thing
it's a daydream
and we both
know it's true
for me
and for you too

"Boulder Wilderness"

looking for life in the boulder wilderness
nothing to see but rocks and trees
nothing in sight of human life
as if this is not the place to be
whatever animal life is living
is hidden below where eyes can't see
can't get past my magnifying glass
when the moss looks like a tree
when a rock looks like a boulder
seen from space it's a land so free
but down below the truth is known
where rocks are boulders
and moss are trees

I've seen some wonderful poems here lately...And Julie...It is the best thing to do...When peace in your mind is hard to find...A poem will bring out the truth.

It's the umpteenth day of this heatwave...Currently 41° C (106° F) in Vandalia, Illinois.

My air-conditioner is straining...and not quite keeping up...It's set at 70F...Currently 75 indoors...and rising.

Message from the future: It is Day 10,950 of John Clark's recovery...It's been 30 years and John Clark is still complaining of the quality of pickles that he is getting...He does not believe in the worldwide pickle shortage...He believes that someone is hoarding the pickles that should be rightfully his to consume.

Confirmed today an escape for late afternoon tomorrow, and Oncology have been. 5 radium sessions next week as a day patient.

Thanks for the well wishes all, and I hope to see you from home in a few weeks.

It is good to see you posting again John. A big gap was created when you suddenly
disappeared off our screens. So we're really happy now to see your on your way
back to filling this gap back up.

I will be posting off and on during the day. But come between 6.00pm and 8.00pm the whole hospital seems to be online. Pages take a long time to load.

You are both incorrigible and indomitable...I am therefore betting on you to win in your latest battle...Godspeed, John Clark!

Hi Gang! I have been asked to come back while our good Friend John Clark is recuperating, First and foremost Rocky's Is and will always be a tribute to our good friend and a great Guy Rocky McCudd. Rocky was a Fearless, Talented amazing Human Being. He was faced with many of life's obstacles and challenges as we all have I am sure. But the biggest was his health problems. Rocky and I shared many of those Health challenges. Rocky along with my Father spurred me on to overcome many of them. Sadly Rocky passed on as well as some good friends here on the Seti Boards.

I will be back I just keep getting interrupted.

btw...Captain Avatar (Timmy)...Thanks for starting this thread back in 2004 or whenever it was...We old SETI crunchers had plenty of good times at Rocky's...I just wanted to say that before i flew out of here...Cya somewhere else..some time later...
