Likely won't happen. In the morning, everything goes offline for two days. I guess it's a way of "ramping down" before the outage.


Also, I don't know if you knew about this, but some time back (year+), Boincstats changed some things around and you have someone else's stats in your signature. You should head back over to boincstats and get the updated code for that.

I'm getting responses to about 1 in 5 requests. And mostly it's to re-issue lost tasks from previous failed requests.

I work for a hotel company, and I go to many of the hotels and do various maintenance on their computers. I'm not surprised, but i've seen much worst. for instance, i saw a mouse who made a home in a workstation once. probably didn't do a lot for the airflow in that box!

Ooops, you're right. Looks like some customisations slipped out of the scheduler code while the servers were being swapped around. Let's hope we can attract the staff's attendtion to this thread when the time comes.

Just a quick note. Obviously, jocelyn is up. Mork is recovering.

At this point, we are discussing what we will do between now and when the new servers are on line.

Take the whole system down until you have installed and thoroughly tested the new servers. If that takes a month or two really doesn't matter. It must be extremely time consuming and not beneficial to the science, just trying to keep the system up, when it is this unstable and unreliable.

It's much better if you spend that time doing some science work, instead of baby sitting unstable machines.

Yea and WHY turn off validation just because the Scheduler is messed up

Seams to me that the system could be lowering the waiting for validation queue
and just disable the scheduler, and upload/download servers

The waiting for validation queue is at 0, how much lower can it go.

On the BOINC manager program, under project, the status reads "won't get new tasks." I hit update several time but no luck. The "allow new tasks" button is on. Any idea what the deal is or how to fix it. Thanks.
