The reason I ask is that with holiday time coming up fairly soon, I would hate to have WU's on comp that are going to expire.

I think this would be unfair on the other 2 people that may have crunched it and are waiting for me.

I thought about lowering my cache right down, but its still a bit hit and miss.

Would "Detaching" from project hand them back or just leave them to expire?

I wouldnt detach from the project. if you cant complete the wu's, then dont worry about it.

You can see the deadline of the WUs in the GUI.

If you want to reduce your cache, set it to 0.1-0.1. The leading zero is important. There is a bug that sometimes causes .1 not to function properly. 0.1 will work.

If you detach, the WUs will hang out in limbo until they expire. Then they can be re-added to the pool to be re-sent.

If you want to stop processing WUs for a while, set the amount of disk space to leave to larger than the disk space available on your HD. This setting is available with others in the "Your account" area of the web site.
