Nothing official yet, but Team MacNN has been testing a re-compiled version that appears to work. Unfortunately, the server it is on, went down over the long holiday weekend (in the US).

It will be Tuesday before we get that server back up, but at that time we can make it available for others to try (I hope). To the best of my knowledge it has only been tested with BOINC and the Predictor project, but if any team members have tried it with SETI, then they can chime in here.

Mikkyo of Team MacNN has successfully compiled a version of the BOINC core client 3.19, that works with Mac OS 10.2.x (Jaguar). It can be downloaded from the following sites.

UPDATE TO the LINK
http://members.dslextreme.com/~readerforum/forum_team/boinc.html

Team MacNN members have had sucess with this compile of the core client, but it is not warranteed in any manner. Use at your own risk. This core client should work with both SETI and Predictor@Home. We hope to have a G5 optimized version available soon.

If you are looking for a great team to belong to, check out Team MacNN at http://team.macnn.com.

Many thanks to Mikkyo and to you for keeping us informed.
I have installed it and it seems to work well, Appart from
the fact that there are no work from server.

I am not familar with the client command. For example, how do I foce connection
with server, attach new project, update prefs, etc...

The command line informations found on http://boinc.berkeley.edu/participate.php
says nothing about OSX. The command line informations are for unix, I guess.

Are there any cmd on this compile version.

Thanks again
Marc

Since OSX is built on unix, the terminal commands are the same as posted for unix.

I updated the link above to a better server location: http://members.dslextreme.com/~readerforum/forum_team/boinc.html

In addition, optimized versions for G3 & G4 under Panther, have been posted. Eventually we should have a G5 (Panther) optimized as well. Because optimization is only for the core client (which is open source), improvements may not be dramatic, but can vary depending on project.

You need to activated your account first and then you receive an email with the URL you need to enter at that point and your account ID (next question).

For SETI the URL should be "http://setiathome.berkeley.edu"

Please note that that "boinc_3.19_Jaguar" is working only with Predictor for the moment.
If you are running Jaguar 10.2.8 It just won't work for now. You will have the same problem I had encountered. See the "Jaguar Unrecoverable error" post. The worker core also needs to be recompiled. People from team MacNN are currently working on it and we should have a new
recompiled version soon.

I guess they will make a announcement as soon as it works.

Best regards
Marc From France

Hey Guys! Dave has emailed me letting me know about them adding the Team MacNN link on the download page as download from a third-party site. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_other.php

Matt.
