Hello everyone! I am an beginner and I have a few questions.
First: why on the "show graphic", DATA Info the date is so old as 2006 or 2011 ?
Second: how we know if we find something?

how to read the show graphic?

Thanks!!

Some of the work as you noted may be recorded a long time ago. The scientists at SETI@Home are sending the data to us again as the techniques for analyzing it have improved, and been debugged, over the years, so perhaps we'll find something that was missed. As well they are looking for repeating signals (ie "beacons") meant to be found so older data is good to have.

If we do find something, it will be publicly announced. There's usually a release on the main page when they have candidate signals whose stars are going to be checked, so far nothing has resulted from these checks but I stay hopeful. :^)
